With 6 mins to go in the Houston game Stans tried to put Kodi in the game. Kodi looked at Stans and said, "I'm not a scrub" and refused to come into the game. Very Starbury like.

I never saw that (not surprised if it happened) but I watched him quite a bit and Kodi's teammates did not interact with him very much, nor he with them.

Also, if this is true, why not kick him off the team? Why spend money for him to travel, etc?

If he's "done" if he refuses to play and if he has told some of you guys that he is leaving 100% then why doesn't he ask for his release RIGHT NOW.. or at the end of the semester, etc.. According to transfer rules he could be eligible to play starting in January of 2010 instead of sitting out all next year.

Why would any player not do that if they already know? I mean the Ervin, Hansborough, Delks, even Robert Jackson situations all sorta came to life after the season was over or in Jackson's case late in the SEC schedule, so they really couldn't do this.

A transfer has to sit out a season, not a year. Since he's already played for us this season, he would have to sit out next season regardless of when he transferred.

i swear I have heard of a transfer becoming eligible to start the SEC schedule before but I don't know for sure so you might be right...

Either way you would think he would leave now and avoid the practices, etc..

Not true. Plenty of guys leave mid year and are eligible to play when fall classes end the next season.

See Alex Legion at Illinois.

If people on here are so certain that he's leaving then why hasn't he left?

I think it's something else... grades, mary jane, gambling, etc....

While I could understand something you are implying to be directly or indirectly effecting his lack of playing time, I think the reason folks imagine he should get his transfer papers ready is because we been through this before. I imagine folks perception being that if he continues to ride the pine that will result in his eventual transfer, by his own doing or by Stans' doing. If Stans sends him packing now he couldn't just fill the schollie now. If he keeps him maybe they work out their differences. If Kodi leaves now maybe he can get on somewhere else, if he stays maybe they work out their differences.

Stans has gotten himself into the position we are in right now in part because of the transfers, but also in part to some recruiting mistakes. Whatever the reason Hansbro left, I imagine he was in the plans to be on the floor this year. Hopson was recruited for how long? You know Stans was planning on him being here right now too. Stans goes out and gets Holcombe(hurt) and Beckham(not helping) to fill voids. Stans was planning on B. Johnson being 100%(not) this year and helping in the post. Stans has had to change plans and shift gears and coach to which folks aren't real happy with the current production of the team. With all that said, I could see Stans trying to hold on to Kodi for any help he can give us in the future. At some point these problems need to stop happening or things will have to change.

happen with Kodi or someone else early last season or am I dreaming? Maybe Turner's first year? I remember talk of Turner leaving after his first year not turning out to happen. I don't know, I just seem to remember Stans trying to put someone in late in a game in the last few years and the player refused to go in the game.

...do other coaches have as much trouble keeping guys in the program until they graduate or turn pro as we do?

Or are we just plagued with prima donna crybabies ....or is there something else to it?

Supposedly, Robert Jackson did the very same thing.

Oh, my aunt got on an elevator in Vegas and ran into Eddie Murphy....except she did know it was Eddie Murphy....blah, blah, blah, he sent her flowers.

He has made it clear to Stans that he is a 6'8 shooting guard. This in itself is not that unusual, however, he has basically said he is not interested in playing down low, defense, rebounding, etc. I know this sounds ridiculous but it's true. By the time some of these kids get to college, they have no perception of reality anymore based on their previous 6 years of AAU. I think it's time to send him packing.

Will the likely transfer of Augustus knock us over the edge??? This might possibly another reason Stansbury is not immediately dismissing Kodi from the team on the hopes that things might somehow be eventually worked out.
