Happy to say that I have now used the ignore button, so I will no longer have to sift through the garbage of the raging egomaniac who has polluted nearly every thread around here lately.
I'm pretty sure I know who you mean. Insufferable.

A 20 million dollar roster in NIL, 14 returning starters, preseason #2, Top 15 roster is a team left for dead? All I heard preseason was Penn State followed the OSU Michigan model with returning starters and seniors, we are peaking, this team can win a natty. Now the same exact roster isn’t an equal comparison.
this team played poorly from the first game of the season. It just seemed as if something was off. The Oregon game, they played better and lost. After that the team, and maybe the coaching staff, just lost it. I have no idea why the team didn't seem to jell. It just didn't.
There's always next year

You're speaking for a lot of people without their consent. You're definitely the one with the problem.
Who am I speaking for without their consent? Who?
I'm not complaining--not sure what problem you think I have. I can't fix your obsession

Nevermind. I knew this would be a boring conversation and you would deflect.
Deflect--yeah, you rambling nonsense about needing the "consent" of a fan base to discuss them is definitely me deflecting--not you saying something nonsensical then running away like...well, you know

Does anyone really believe that these Tongans with all the existing culture and activities in Utah are really going to relocate to Central PA? Folks say that recruits dont want to come here b/c its in the middle of nowhere and now the whole BYU roster is going to relocate to PSU? Thats why his name feels like a plant job.
I would think he’d bring a few players but I wouldn’t expect a ton from the current roster. My biggest concern would be that his primary recruiting footprint is 2000 miles away from State College and he has virtually no connections to HS coaches in the mid-Atlantic.

If he’s the guy then it may take a couple years to build something and our fans aren’t exactly patient.

Okay, so level setting - names I'm still seeing on social media etc.:

- Bob Chesney
- Josh Huepel
- Kalani Sitake
- Lincoln Riley (personally think this is the 'mystery' candidate if there actually was one)
- Terry Smith
- Brent Key
- Kalen DeBoer

Not seeing much on Hartline; I initially thought he could be a 'hot' hire, but think the truth is that he's the beneficiary of OSU doing what OSU does - he's selling the best college football machine in the country. And yes, he's a part of it, but all those WR's would have been who they are anywhere else had they decided not to go to OSU. I do give him credit for keeping the bench super deep, but I don't think he would be able to do that at PSU. We need a HC who can recruit well but also put players in the best position to win on the field. But, who knows? Maybe he could duplicate the recruiting at PSU...

I do think most media types are just guessing. I did see a 'plane tracker' map of a flight from Knoxville to SC recently that was supposed to be legit, but who knows? Kraft may swing and miss here (Smith being the biggest 'miss' IMO) but he's done a masterful job of keeping his cards close to his vest. Still think this will be a shocker.

According to Vai Sikahema the Polynesian players want to be near airports. A lot of them work in the airline industry.

The only two on that list that makes sense to me at this time are Chesney and Smith. I would be fine with either or but really like the prospects of Chesney. One thing I'm assured of, to divert a program disaster the hire needs to get done this week.

And Hartline probably to KY. That leaves Penn State with NOBODY.

Seems like it’s going to be a grand slam or a self-goal at this point. I thought Chesney was the safety for DeBoer so to speak but nothing makes sense anymore so….i guess we’ll see.

That's why I would have just kept Franklin. He thought the team was better than it was, it didn't click. Move on and figure out what went wrong. No need to totally panic.

Now if this happens year after year, a change is needed.

Huh? This was the needed change after year after year of not being as good as they should be.
Huh? Not being as good as they should be is based on a bunch of schmucks who overrate the team every season.

Is there a position group in this team that was as good as advertised? None. Best rb duo in the country? Gtfo. QB in the Heisman watch. Gtfo. Best OL? Two LBs and zero depth.

He couldn’t muster the amount of character needed to say that he still wanted to be coach of Penn State during a press conference… at that moment he had to be fired immediately

he is the one who set this in motion. No one else.

The kickers were fantastic. Gabe was awesome and I would have loved to see him try a 60 yarder. He will be in the NFL.
Barker was just automatic.
about the rest....

Is Franklin the lead schmuck then since he's the one who said this was his best team?

Yes and he was fired.
yes and he was fired. Do you make predictions based on coach speak? You probably believe urban crime is down and the schools are great because the mayor running for reelection said so. Do you think inflation is down since trump said so?

Do you think this is a championship team?

Franklin was going to be leveraging these jobs for more money and a longer commitment from the school, clearly. So if kraft didnt want to play ball, what was he to do, honestly?

They should have been in contention--with the run game alone
And Franklin, not the media, set expectations. Period.
