Maybe we can get him enrolled in Jan, to make it quicker!
This could be great with a QB like this. Gets him more experience and spring ball, and more importantly has him on campus BEFORE lots of other teams have QBs leave etc and come knocking on his door.

That was awesome! I am going to temper my enthusiasm just a tad, however. I remember Dilfer drooling over Stanton a few years ago. But there is nothing but positives to take away from that.

What he said about POB making reads, that's HUGE. We've had what, 6 years now of QBs who struggle to go through the progression?

Only time will tell how he does as a college QB, but he has a ton of upside and him getting that 4th star is a big deal IMO. Riley's first gem as an NU coach.

It's early and we'll have to see if these coaches can coach come game time, but I'm starting to get the feeling we might actually become good and nationally relevant again and it puts a smile on my face.

Not to nitpick but we've been good...just not great. Great teams play in playoffs/national title games and can compete against anyone/anywhere. Good teams go to bowls, are near the top of their league, and can compete well with teams ranked but struggle against the elite.

We all know that Riley was hired specifically to increase our competitiveness in major games against the top competition...I think we're all hopeful on that. However, this recruit will likely need 2 yrs before making an impact here for us.

Rivals really blew it on his ranking. Then they gave him a small bump so they don't look stupid when they give him the real bump that takes him to 4* level.

It wasn't just rivals, every recruiting service had him ranked low. Not their fault. Can't really give a player 4 or 5 stars just by watching game tape unless you know they're playing against some of best competition in the nation. POB never attended any Rivals camp so evaluating him was difficult.

If there were a degree between average and good, that's where I would put us. I don't consider Minnesota and Wisconsin elite.

Yeah...rivals gives good rankings to guys that attend their camps and devalue other metrics.
