I don't guess it will be too loud, but the opposing fans (and band I'm presuming) will now be right there at the South endzone making noise when our team is trying to score. I know where they were before, but at least they weren't on both sides. Of course, I'm sure they won't be the only ones making noise. I see plenty of our idiot fans ringing cowbells when we've got the ball too.

going off after we score on a one yard TD plunge after three tries were the most ridiculous things about MSU football.

Also, I know the cannon was moved behind the bushes because of the guy who obviosly has way more power than me having a heart attack, but I think it's time we bring the cannon back out of the bushes. That thing would rock the entire stadium! Awesome!

Is NOWHERE near as loud as is was in the days of The Kang. I've heard its because they use less gunpowder. But I really think its because they point it away from the stadium instead of across the field. Screw safety. Fire the damn cannon the length of the field and rock the place!

It's not because of less gunpowder. Those cannons use 12 Gauge shotgun blanks. They are bought commercially. No way to use less gunpowder.

After we scored back then smoke would drift over the field. No way a 12 gauge shotgun shell was used for the cannon back then.

the cannon that the ROTC guys used while the Kang was at MSU was bigger than the one used now. It seemed to be 5x louder and smoke for days. Now it's a quick "pow or boom" and it's over with. Big difference in size from what I have seen.
