the AD need to look in the mirror. Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

"we're doing the best we can with what we have.". In other words, we're still little ol MState.

I thought we had made progress. Apparently not.

Rick Ray supposedly works hard, puts forth tremendous effort, and has a will to win, so he is obviously "talented". ****

doesn't it? We had this discussion about a month before the season ended.I said then that timing wise for a new hire it would have been better to wait another year. This one was made in an absolute storm of bad circumstances. You people need to look at it logically from the point of view ofa coach outside the program. How you could expect or demandbetter is beyond me.

my mindset was why would you take this job right now if you are a coach? Think from the point of view of someone with only outside knowledge of the program. This is an Ogeron or Freeze hire. It's about all it could have ever been this year. Ray may turn out to be great, andI hope he does. I was in school during the Boyd years.

you spewed a bunch of random **** so that once the dust settled you could claim you were right all along. You didn't know **** then, and you don't know **** now. Ray may end up being a great hire, and I am 100% sure I would rather have him than Stansbury. Our basketball program would be in a terrible spot had we kept him one more year, and you know that. The team admitted that he had lost the players' respect and that there were problems, so don't act like keeping Stans would have been a good thing.

This is the type of thread that makes me dislike you so much. You are like the Genespage version of Coach34....if you were AD we would be the worst SEC program in every sport right now because we would have Polk, Sherrill, and Stansbury at the helm.

been if we had hired Bryce Drew or Steve Prohm? Yep, you just sit back and comment on the **** that sticks, and keep quiet on all of the other bull **** you post that's wrong.

Same story, different topic with you

I would really be worried if someone like you liked me. I also posted that I was netural on Stans. You probably missed that too. That WAS a negative change for me.

I was against rehiring Polk and I didn't want Cohen either. I really could care less about baseball but it seemed to me we needed to go OUTSIDE the program for that one.
As for Jackie I will always be greatful for what he did at MSU. That being said it was time for him to go and he went.
As for Stans, I would have prefered to wait another year. If he did better then great (the odds were WAY against that), if notfire him. At least maybe all the "stuff" would have settled down a bit. If it hadn't then we would have been no worse off than now.
As for spewing random stuff: You have never seen me predict anything about this other than to say I thought those who expected us to be able to pull in an initiallypercieved good hire would most likely be dissapointed.

To me you are about as old line MSU in mindset as anyone I have ever seen. I've been hearing you exact speil for 40 years.

a month before the season ended is hindsight? I never mentioned a name. I said that I had doubts about us being able to pull in the "names" being dropped here. I would have been THRILLED to be wrong here. I STILL hope I am. Ray may turn out to be the next Wooden. We will see. Fact remains I said back then people here would probably be upset when we made the hire.

and you wouldn't have come close to saying you were wrong if we had hired a bigger name. But after slinging **** about how we weren't good at anything, and had no talent in any sport, for the last 5 years, you finally have something stick and you want to beat your chest over it.

My point being, if you throw **** against the wall all of the time, eventually some sticks.

If you think I am old line MSU....you really are clueless.

Someone that wishes Stansbury could have had one more year is saying that I am old line MSU. Riiiiight. And someone that thinks a team with Moultrie, Bost, and Hood has NO talent. You're right, you never spew stupidity.

did we hire one of those big names? Talent? I stand by my statements about basketball and the record speaks for itself. . We have a little talent on the football field but we have over achieved every year since Mullen arrived except possibly last year. Last year we didn't have enoughtalent on the O line to over achieve and I think even you would agree with that.

I said your VIEW is old MSU. It's the same old crap we have always done. Moultrie is a good rebounder and a decent scorer if you put him in certain specific situations. He plays little defence. Bost is a decent offensive point guard. He is a terrible defensive guard. Hood is a talented young player. That was about it. That adds up to some talent on the offensive end and very little on the other. Anyone who thinks that adds up to a "talented" team is a bit deluded.
