With their 91 today - they've only been in the 80's twice (82,83). Basically they just shot the lights for most of the game and got to take a lot more FT than we did. Some of that was a good job by team, some of it poor job by us and a lot of it just the unlucky fate of catching them on a hot shooting night. Meanwhile we had one stretch in the 1st half when we shot well and that was about it. We hit a few more of our 3's midway through the 2nd half and I think we find a way to pull out the win. We just went ice cold for a period there though and didn't make good decisions down the stretch.

Hahaha! I love it.

Can the excuse be used for football? Baseball? "They just had a hot night running and throwing." "They just had a hot night swing the bat."

just like we are always unlucky during the NCAA Tourney. We are the only team that has to play "hot teams"

Auburn is 5-2 in their last 7 games. They are playing well. They didnt just get hot today. They were better and had more energy in the last 10 minutes than we did

Maybe them scoring 91 today had much more to do with our lack of being able to play any type of defense at a mediocre level? Going down the court and firing a contested 3 off the dribble with 25 seconds left on the shot-clock probably doesn't help much either. It's not a coincidence that every team we play some player finds a way to have a season-high scoring performance. Also, subbing in 4-5 of our backups at a time probably doesn't help either. You don't see UNC or Duke doing it and they have McDonald's All-Americans sitting on their benches.</p>

that 91 Auburn posted was the most we have given up all year in regulation (does not include OT)
