I'm going to say this and be done with it. I am not the only one that sees what I see with play calling at MA. You guys are a short few with your own opinions. Several and I mean several people at the games and just talking feel same as me. I'm just stupid enough to say it on here . Hell half you guys talking crap to me not even MA fans or go to the games. While this post is a back handed complement intended to put down Mt Airy, they just play whom ever is put in front of them. At the time somebody got covided out and Mt Airy had to find somebody to play in about a 2 hour time period, they went to Draughn. Draughn had just dropped down from 2A, had 3 pre-season All State selections, and were being talked about they were on the up swing.
Sure seems like ducking strong teams to me.
Now who wants to talk about Tarboro's schedule? And have you looked at the other top 10 ranked 1A schools schedules and rankings of opponents schedules?
Now I will give you that only God could keep Mt Airy from winning its next/last two games, but again that is not the Bears fault. So an undefeated season seems pretty sure.
At this point in the season, what 2A, 3A or even 4A team would want to take the chance of coming to Wallace Shelton Stadium? Certainly NOBODY on the edge of getting into or being left out of their division playoffs.
I guess we Bear supporters will just have to continue to endure the synde remarks from those looking at an 8-0 record and wishing it was theirs. LOL
TBH I don't think MA will get past 3rd Rd. With the play calling and lack of passing consistent.
A lot of teams in 1a and 2a have not had close games. That's just the way the schedule works. Reidsville has proven that a weak conference does not weaken a teams chance for a championship. We will see who the best team is soon enough.
They may be working on that because they haven't had to pass it when you can run up and down the field. The good teams will slow that down.
Will have to pass in playoffs. And when they try to throw lately just don't hit the mark. And competition will get alot better in playoffs. If you can't throw now you want then.

Yes but note how I defined the 2A, etc teams. Teams on the edge of getting in or out of the playoffs.

And don't forget the garbage Mount Airy played Monday night. Had 3 or four chances inside the 10-yard line to score and got pushed back and had to try field goals and only came away with two of those field goals for 6 points. I think EW got a 1st down on the 4-yard line once and got pushed back to around the 15 or 20-yard line. The halftime score could have been EW 21 MA 19 at the half but EW could not get by MA's goal-line stance. I have not put East Wilkes down and most Mount Airy posters have only had good things to say about EW, including me, but sick of you constant bad-mouthing Mount Airy. I hope you lose your last 2 games for that bad-mouthing now that you can't lighten up. Your team is garbage and North Surry, Ashe County, and Draughn beats East Wilkes. Hope y'all meet Draughn in the playoffs but you probably lose in the 1st round, a couple of field goals just won't do it. Mount Airy kicked EW's AZZ, live with it...

At the end of the day Mt.Airy has a great chance to win it all..If you read through everything thats posted..you will always see that I speak truth..Mt.Airy hasn't played many teams with a winning record..but i have never said it diminishes how good they are..only that it makes them or anyone else susceptible if they should fall behind against a good team..Sorry you're a little too shallow to follow up...You have a good team...You also have some shady fans that after having years and years of success in their programs..still seem to act like they haven't been here before...Go Figure..

Guess it's a good thing Mount Airy has a head coach that has long been known for having a good defense.
No offense, just a minor correction.
MA has Darrin Taylor defensive coordinator. Has been D coach since 2008. That's why the D is good and all the talent they have.

Been few weeks i remember it being 40-14 or so and SC scored on sophomores late...good correction...still wasnt a close game in 2nd half at all #3 that has been missing since that game had almost 250 yrds rushing and big time receiving yards that game as well..He was a huge loss..

They haven’t played a tough schedule. But they are beating teams like they should and could have scored a lot more points if they had wanted to.
Like I said Td...nice posting scores....i stated EW has went backwards since then..you do a lot of work only to substantiate what i said..SC is not good...please don't use them as a parameter for anything..they are 6-2 and will get beat by 4tds or more when they face East Surry...and when EW and MA played SC..they were not playing good ball...They are playing good ball now and will still get clobbered unless Covid dessimates East Surry's core team.
