I'll agree with Big Red on this one. It seemed to me that to beat Mountain Heritage last year in the playoff overtime game we had to stop their two point conversion. If we had gone for 2, failed and then stopped the Cougars 2 point try you would have criticized our coach for not kicking the point. I think coach took the automatic point with our kicker and trusted the defense. Didn't work but that is to Mountain Heritage's credit. I don't think the Bearcats could have matched 2 pointers for long with the Cougars in overtime.
Just my opinion.

Was I the only one at that game that KNEW that if Heritage scored they would be going for two and that they had not kick field goals? Apparently that's the case. If you knew that, and you can see it as plain as a pink elephant on the field, why would you think a field goal was a good call? Either way, up or down that's what cost Hendo the win. Obviously all a team needs is one point to win but maybe that fact was overlooked? Lol I don't mean to sound cynical, but come on man!

At the end of the day, to me, it's better to loose by two rather than by one in a regional playoff game but that's just me and my opinion and four quarters you have a dollar. Moving on.

Seems like he gets paid to make those decisions and to scout. Maybe he felt the defense would hold up and it was no need. You weren't the only one that knew they were going for 2. They NEVER kick. The 2 would have had to been stopped regardless.
