Would be a monster here. 6'10" or so with good skills and high motor. Alot of people think he's a big Memphis lean or possibly LSU. Hope Cal can get him to UK and into the 2020 class. Put him along with what we have coming in and get Kuminga or Banchero and that would be a super long athletic team.

He’s only 16 years old. Doubt he reclassifies.

Of the three you mentioned I think we have a legit shot at Banchero . The other 2 , not so much.

Kuminga we are the favorites for IMO IF and only IF he goes the big boy route as Duke is elimated basically with all the bigs and wings they committed and coming back. If he wants to play for a top 5 program he will be here I believe . If he wants to go the Mcdaniels / Cade route then no . I sorta suspect we close out are class Jackson Banchero Kuminga and grad transfer pg to back up askew and Quickley , Hagans and Maxey will all be gone .

I would absolutely agree with this in a fair world . I just think there are ALOT of shady, behind the scenes things that go on when Duke really wants a player . Just the fact that Kyrie Irving was instrumental in getting him to choose a NIKE school over his Under Armour school is enough for me to think Duke already has their hooks in him .

I think it was Jackson . But we will find out if I was right on the 16th .

I am leaning that way too. keyword: think

In regards to Banchero... I don't remember where I heard or read it.. but remember a couple of different people feeling that he is not close to a lock for us. And.. he is adamantly defending the reclass talk.

still too early to tell who goes pro... but after seeing Brooks a little bit.. if he stays.. then we have 2 bigs. Need 2 more.

I wouldn’t say this is entirely accurate, but we are right there for him; apparently, Auburn is seen—and has been—as possibly the “favorite” now that LSU was eliminated. However, it’s so early it’s a wide-open race.

I’m not pessimistic about our chances, but I’m certainly approaching it with a high-level of caution; this whole situation just seems strange. Apparently, Duke told him they were moving on from recruiting him and he still has them in his list of 10? And LSU apparently has strong connections with those in his inner-circle and he completely eliminated them? Something just seems off.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but the recruitments that seem very professional, straight forward or even a bit under the radar seem like the kids we do the best with. The guys who turn it into a publicity stunt and consistently have a lot of hype they build up for attention just seem like kids who just string us along.

I’m not saying this will take place with Kuminga and it becomes a s**t show, but the start of things just seems a bit off to me. Hopefully, I’ll be wrong, but there just seems to be a lot of misinformation and misdirection early that usually doesn’t bold well for UK.

Travis Graff and David Sisk mentioned it about a month ago; this is—supposedly—the reason Jaemyn Brakefield committed to Duke. I believe the Sources Say podcast touched on it this week, as well.

I see , interesting . That would be great but I can't imagine any program would turn down a generational type player though . He might not go to Duke , but I'll never believe it's because coach k doesn't want him. Thanks for answering my question.

I agree, and Brakefield certainly wouldn’t scare away a guy like Kuminga.

More or less, to paraphrase what David and Travis said, Duke basically went to Kuminga and said we need you to commit or we’re moving on and taking someone else; Kuminga did not agree to it and Duke immediately offered Brakefield—who committed almost immediately.

It’s weird, but you’re right, K would throw Brakefield under the bus and take Kuminga ... even after that supposedly took place. I wouldn’t put it past K.

It is kind of odd that all these great basketball players are relocating to Memphis to play their final season of high school ball. With Wiseman found ineligible, what does this say about Cisse?

Wonder if he did the same for Cisse ?This could change things .

Why would any parent let their child, in this case Moussa Cisse move to of all places. A rat hole of a place like Memphis, TN. to attend high school? Anybody with a thimble full of basketball brains knows that Penny & Memphis University paid this family to move there..... But I guess they seen Mike Krzyzewski & Duke move Zion Williamson & his family to Durham NC. & put them in a million dollar home and didn't get punished for it, so I guess they figured it must not be against the rules to do so. Only 1 problem Duke IS ALLOWED to play by a different set of rules than everyone else. I'm hopeing the NCAA investigates the Cisse move to Memphis.

I'm expecting Duke to land Kuminga.

I'm not buying the new narrative that third tier recruits like Brafefield or Coleman will scare away the future #1 pick in the draft.

The only way I would say we have a shot is if Griffin reclassifies and joins Duke's roster next year.

Those two have been somewhat discredited after the Cunningham debacle.

Brakefield isn't going to prevent Kuminga from enlisting with the folks in Durham.

Agreed, Brakefield isn’t stopping Kuminga; if anything,I think this was K just trying to strong-arm the kid into a commitment.

And I wouldn’t discredit them; there were a lot of people getting similar information and saying similar things. It’s obvious Cunningham’s camp was certainly misleading and not completely forwarded with everyone publicly; you can’t blame anyone but Cade and his family for that. Don’t put it on Travis and David, they still do solid work. And to their credit, they both did not immediately flip to UK; in fact, they were somewhat hesitant, and still maintained caution about the whole situation.

You make some fair points and I agree about giving those guys the benefit of the doubt.

Forget kuminga. Our recruiting guys have heard their group is begging Duke to recruit him again. They dropped LSU...... this kid is going to Duke. Locked down guaranteed.

Ok almost guaranteed. Only way he isn’t is if Duke won’t take him and then I bet you Mitch Barnhart wouldn’t allow us to take him either as that’s a big red flag

Duke has Johnson Coleman Brakefield at the forward positions for next year if nobody else returns. I look for Griffin to reclassify. That would effectively remove Kuminga from Duke consideration...Unless K promises to play him at guard (kidding), which he is totally capable of making that promise to land a recruit.

Kids from the NorthWest rarely rarely rarely leave the area. It took a phone call from Calipari to Terrance Jones to pull him away after he committed to Washington.

Kuminga will go straight to the NBA.
