Lots of basketball to be played. Which is why I hate bracketology this early on. I know, I love the analytics of it all, but it’s still an overreaction by most, good or bad.
However, their resume as I have stated, has always been fringe worthy.

They are probably still on the right side at the moment.

But if they lose the next 3 marquee road opportunities (SJU, NOVA, CU) they will most likely be on the wrong side of the bubble even if they win the other 3 in between.
If we whiff on @UCONN, SJUx2 and @nova we are 100% out regardless if we win every other game on the schedule.

Hope SJU wins tonight because they may not take us as seriously. Maybe a trap game of some type. I thought we would go toe to toe with SJU at MSG but after today a good deal of doubt has crept in. When they come to NJ at the end of the season The Hall may have a better chance.

Today was confidence crushing because it looks like the other coaches have our number. Having said that I'll go back to my three mini schedules. So, win 3, 2 and then 3 to get the 8. One has to be a Quad 1 though.

That is just a dumb comment.

They would get to that 13-7 we have been talking about and you have now swapped a home Butler loss for a road Creighton win.

you have no idea where that puts us relative to other bubble teams almost 7 weeks from now.

talk about a sky is falling attitude after a loss on January 17th. SMH

You think if we go into selection Sunday with our two best wins being Creighton on the road and NC State in November on a neutral court that we’re getting in you’re crazy. We’ll be so far out and the committee won’t even think about it for 5 seconds. Did the committee not make that clear in 2024?

They could have quad 1 wins:
Neutral - NC state
Away - Kansas St (currently 78)
Away - Creighton
Away - Butler
Away - Providence (currently 82)

they could have a record of 5-7 quad 1
they could have a record of 9-8 quad 1-2

this doesn’t count any result at the BET

There most likely would not be 5 bid stealers

So YES the will absolutely be in the mix with that resume. that resume screams Dayton play in to me. But you saying it would be so far off is just being a hater with an agenda.

I have No idea how a team that has a current projected seed line of 9. Drops completely off the radar going 9-4 the rest of way prior to conference tourney time. Get real.

Disagreeing with your point of view does not make me a “hater with an agenda.” Get over yourself.

You’re scenario is full of a lot of what if’s. Good luck with all that coming true. I’d say we have a better chance winning some of our marquee games before all that happening.

That wasn’t the debate.
You said we could win the rest of our games and lose the ones you highlighted and we would be NO WHERE near a tournament bid.

However you provide no factual basis as to where that would put us relative to the rest of cbb.

you don’t even provide a guess as to what 9-4 in the remaining games would do to our NET. do you think that would drop our NET to something in the mid 50s?

Give me something other than you don’t think we have enough good wins.

For example Miami of Ohio is currently 18-0 with a NET of 47. Please tell me who they have beaten on their schedule.
currently 13-0 vs quad 3&4
3-0 vs non D1 schools
SOS of 357.

how about Auburn. Only 11-7
NET 37
SOS: 3
Wins over SJU / NC st / Arkansas
and nothing else of note.

Most people here live inside the Seton Hall bubble. Until you point out to me who gets in over us and why at this point, I don’t take your prediction serious, that we get to 23-8 before the BET and have zero shot to get in.

So no I won’t get over myself because your goal is to come here and rain on the parade of a season that has overachieved to date. A season that has brought back some of the joy of Seton Hall basketball for most.

Why, I have no idea. But it’s not objective. It’s just bitter and disgruntled. Why even bother posting if all you do is try to tear the team down.

You’re 2nd paragraph.. 2024

Auburns 3 wins are by far better than our 3 best wins.

Your 2nd to last paragraph .. I am not coming here to rain on the parade. The eye test tells me we are going backwards quickly, and our past wins and potential future wins won’t be enough. I have results. You have what if’s.

Your last paragraph. I give plenty of praise when it’s due. Go search and read.

Lol. 2nd paragraph 2024. Talk about PTSD

Where we rank currently vs the field today has nothing to do with what happened that year. That year we finished with a NET of 67. Today we sat at 41 to start the day. It’s not even close to the same.

how does the eye test tell you that our future wins won’t be good enough. What does that even mean.
The eye test is all about evaluating their quality of play without metrics / stats / etc etc. They don’t pas the eye test on offense but they do without a doubt do so on the defensive side of the ball.

there have been plenty of successful programs that have leaned on their D as the hallmark of their program. Tony Bennett’s Virginia teams come to mind.

this team doesn’t play pretty basketball, they are over achieving so they will stub their toe, and at times frustrate the hell out of you. But they are gritty, tough, well connected on D, and fight for 40 minutes. If that isn’t a team you can get behind while they are in the mix for a NCAA tournament bid, then what kind of fan are you.

If I’m considered the glass half empty guy, then what the heck are you?

I can't see us winning any of the games against St. John's or Connecticut. They're too good. St. John's is rounding into form now too. I hope we can clip them.

After Tuesday at MSG (could be ugly), it's at DePaul, Xavier, Marquette before the rematch at Villanova on 2/4. None of those 3 games will move the needle, but they could be torpedoes. Goal should be 17-5, 7-4 heading into Nova.

We're going to be a Bubble team. That's ok. I still think 23-9, 12-8 is the reasonable level for this group as-is and see what happens. If it's 2024 again, cest la vie.

The way I see it now we could lose all of them and I would not be shocked.
