I saw MC a few weeks ago against Randleman. They definitely have some good-sized kids/athletes on their squad. I think they can be competitive in their conference.
MC's biggest problem against Randleman was managing the play clock. It also looks like they're having a lot of problems on the defensive side of the ball. In their defense, a lot of teams would have problems if they had to play Monroe and Forest Hills back-to-back.
Right now, MC just needs a step down in competition. I think that would do them a bit of good.
They probably should tame their non-conference schedule a bit. MC has no business playing Monroe or Forest Hills right now. Maybe they weren’t as good when they scheduled them a year or two ago? Not sure.
Randleman and Union Pines aren’t all that good. Those were good games to schedule. Still, MC laid an absolute egg against Randleman. Shouldn’t have lost by 40.
This next month of football is going to be awful for the Timberwolves. ND, Ledford, OG, Central. They’ll play Thomasville on a Monday night RIGHT AFTER getting throttled by Ledford. I hope they have something left for Asheboro.
It is not a fun time to be a football fan in Troy, NC.
