The bigger issue is why we didn't kick the field goal to make it a one-possession game. Another questionable decision by our veteran head coach.

It wasn't a bad call. We were going to need a touchdown anyway, and we had gotten all the way to the 17. He was attempting to make it easier to tie later, in the event we didn't get that deep into Iowa territory again.

That passing garbage on short yardage is just that.. Sorry but without the ability pick up short yardage on the ground there is no championship football to be played.
I guess you missed the 3rd down play?

Um. There was ... in fact, a wide open receiver. How is that a copout? Tommy made a poor decision.He tried to throw a 17 yard touchdown, when he could have gotten the first down.
Carter very possibly scores if Tommy gets the ball anywhere near him on that play. The way he runs the ball after the catch he would have been tough to stop. Instead TA went for the "pretty" QB glory play. Gonna be a hero.
