I just returned from the coast visiting my cousin and they recommended it. I loved it. BBQ with live band.

Confusion on Teagarden in Gulfport and Old Cuevas Bistro in the Pass. Both are awesome. Half Shell Oyster House is good too.

I'll second Mary Mahoney's and Darwells. The Shed has a fun atmosphere.

I'd also consider Phoenicia's in OS orTaranto's in woolmarket. Halfshell in downtown gulfport isgood.The schooner in Biloxi is also decent.

I would pass on Whitecap. Steven's marina is no longer in Long Beach harbor;it's up 49. </p> ETA: second Confusion also

donuts = dinner

Seriously, you have to stop in Ocean Springs and get some at some point. I think they're made from potato flakes...son, they are quite the stuff.

It's also 'inland' now on Hwy 90. West End (on 90) in Waveland is also quite good. If you're interested in sushi, Chef Scott's in Ocean Springs (BYOB), Samurai on 49 and Pass in Gulfport, and I think it's Koi on 49 nearer the interstate are all pretty tasty.

BBs in Ocean Springs (lunch - get the seafood combo); Mary Mahoney's (dinner - get the Presidential Platter and gumbo); Biloxi Schooner (pressed poboys). I also second McElroy's.

Those are our "must eat at" places when we return to the coast. If you really want to spend some $$$$ go to 32 at the Imperial Palace. Very good, quite upscale, fantastic views. Another casino restaurant that is good is Farraday's in the Isle.

Does any coast restaurant serve grilled oyster anywhere comparable to Dragos in 'nawlins? I will be on the coast in a few weeks and won't be able to get to 'nawlins. Thanks.
