Hello everyone. We are preparing the 2009 College Football issue and we are trying to prepare a road-game reference for fans traveling to the games. We are looking for places to eat and drink before and after the games. We are looking for restaurants/bars in Auburn, Nashville/Murfreesboro, Lexington, KY, and Little Rock. If any of you live in or near these cities or are very familiar with these areas due to past visits, please help us out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

....though I have been to Auburn six times, Lexington five, and Little Rock two, for the most part they have been stealth strikes on a fast food budget.

Best steak in town. Two Keys near campus is a good bar. If you are there in October, there is not a better collection of talent anywhere than at Keeneland on a Friday or Saturday afternoon.

there is a bar called Piranha's run by some Pittsburgh guys. They modeled their menu after the famous Primanti Bros., and it's really good. Sandwiches, wings, beer. We closed it down Friday and opened it Saturday in 2004. Even "partied" with Shane Beamer, who was convinced Marlon Lucky would be a Bulldog.

I second Buffalo Connection in Auburn.

....preceding a trip to the Chick-fil-A in Tuscaloosa. Bob Baumhauer's, though, is a different story.

Here's some information on Auburn.</p>

If you want a beer and wings type of place, there are two good options. Buffalo Connection is my favorite. It's on Wire Road/University Drive intersection. Wing Zone also has good wings, but it's mostly a takeout place. If it's late and you are desperate, you can't beat Willie's Wings. Just let them deliver. You won't eat them if you see where they are cooked. Buffalo Wild Wings is in Opelika at Tiger Town.</p>

Another popular place is Mellow Mushroom. Good pizza and calzones, and a pretty good beer list. It is in downtown Auburn, and sure to have a long wait on Friday/Saturday nights. Little Italy is around the corner and is the cheaper pizza and beer option.</p>

Another option downtown is the Olde Auburn Ale House. It's a microbrewery located out the back doors of both Buffalo's and Mellow Mushroom. To be honest, it's not as good a spot as it was some years ago. The atmosphere and the menu have gone down hill. If you just wanted to go somewhere for some beer, and you like microbrews, give it a shot. I think you can google them to check out the menu.</p>

If you plan to do your dining and your adult beverages separate, then here are a couple of restaurant selections: Zazoo, In Italy, Cheeburger Cheeburger, or Moe's. Zazu and In Italy are more like fine dining. I have not been but have heard good things about both. Moe's is a chain of sort of fast food southwestern food (tacos, burritos, etc). Cheeburger is obviously hamburgers. All are downtown Auburn.</p>

The parties downtown will be at Skybar, Bodega and Bourbon Street, and at the locally famous War Eagle Supper Club out toward I-85 from downtown.</p>

Full color and at least 100 pages. Copies of the May/June issue will be available in JXN/Metro Area by the weekend, Starkville next week for sure at Barnes & Noble on Campus. Sir Pizza in Murfreesboro on E Main St. They're located close to campus. If you're looking for something nicer then you can't go wrong with Morton's Steak House in downtown Nashville.

I mostly limited it to downtown. There are some other decent options around but the best places in Aub-Opelika (Provino's, Christopher, Warehouse Bistro, etc) are not really sports oriented type places. There are also a ton of BBQ joints and chicken finger places but I didn't figure that's what he was looking for.
