They really believe Mullen came up with this multi million dollar campaign. The entire campaign is working just like they hoped, look at all the attention it is getting. I love it.

"In my life, I've reserved most of my hatred for teams that have given
me a reason to hate them like LSU and Alabama, and I've chosen to simply
ignore the Rebel's irrelevant little brother, MSU. In fact, I have
chosen to never even set foot on the campus of Mississippi State (but
I've heard horror stories)."

Care to enlighten the rest of us on how that's possible?

Have I missed our Starkville billboard campaign using the "We're not snobs" line? Do we have people out in front of the Wal-Marks in bearz gear shouting at you from the top of their lungs about how we're better than you? Are you receiving unsolicited mail at your home, extolling the virtues and righteousness of an Ole Miss education versus a State education? Do you have bearfan relatives that turn Thanksgiving and Christmas into power point presentations selling our particular brand of elitism and grandeur? Did someone sign you up to receive flyers for crystal chandelier and fine bone china retailers? Is someone flying a Gulfstream in circles over your place of business towing an elitists banner?

Seriously, how has this been 'shoved down your throat for 50 years' again?

walk around in MSU gear and talk about how the Dawgs are your team for about a year in North Mississippi and get back to me.

The one common denominator in the Snob segment of the Rebel population is they are completely convinced they are better than anyone else simply because they went to UM or root for the Rebs.

But you cannot really experience the snobbery while wearing and proclaiming the red and blue.

Put a can of snuff in your pocket just for good measure.

tshirts aren't on billboards - that means Ole Miss doesn't have an elitist attitude?

But that's another discussion.

I was asking this kind gentlemen here, for examples of how that elitist attitude has been "crammed down his throat for 50 years". That's all. In my first post, I listed a few examples of ways that our elitism could be "crammed down his throat" and I'm wondering if that kind of stuff has been going on in his home town for the past 50 years. It would surprise the hell out of me if those things had been going on.

To my knowledge, the only time our elitist attitudes are on display is in Oxford, or on gameday at a visitors stadium. I'd hardly consider a few Rebel fans participating on SPS as a forceful indoctrination of our elitist mantra. And even if he's talking about 50 years of games played in DWS and having to sit next to bahrfans as they elitism their asses off, much to his chagrin, all he had to do was move seats, or have a DWS agent toss their asses out if they were acting inappropriately. Otherwise, the guy can simply not go to Oxford and all would be right within his world. The point is, if he feels as though he has been asaulted with elitism over the past 50 years, it's as much an indictment of his own personal choices as it is our perceived intolerance of States serfdom.

I live in South Louisiana, I wear OM **** pretty regularly. I get 10 times the amount of shenanigans and tomfoolery that State fans get in NMS, guaranteed. You'll have to forgive me if I don't feel sorry for you.

The honest answer is that it doesn't bother me and it shouldn't bother you. If that guy feels like he's been wronged over the past 50 years somehow by "those damned, dirty elitist snobs up there in Oxford" then the cat needs real help.

the attitude is State fans are rednecks and Ole Miss fans are above the low class State fans. It's engrained on both sides. We think all Ole Miss fans are snobs. Y'all think State are rednecks and farmers.

How does that explain his feeling like our elitism has been shoved down his throat for 50 years? He talks to too many OM fans? He talks to the wrong type of OM fan? He spends too much time listening to stories of elitism gone wild from fellow State fans? I'm not sure where you're going with this...

is a douchebag on our message board trying to explain to us how it feels to be a MSU fan in North Mississippi with his oversized pic of Abita beer and crawfish filling up 90% of the page due to his repeated posting. It's the little things that add up...

I lived in Mississippi for about 40 years and actually have more disdain for the sidewalk Tide fans from Mississippi that the Ole Miss crew.

Most of the Ole Miss folks I knew are quite okay but there was a group that definitely displayed the attitude that was discussed in the previous post. But since you have trumped up the discussion with Louisiana fans I will concede.

to be some fringe type State fans is "messing up the vibe" around here, then by all means, git er done.

But if you're suggesting that I'm trolling based on this last post alone, I simply responded to a stupid post with another stupid post. It's hard to keep your head above water when the pool is full of pudding. Of course, it's your board, not an OM board, etc, etc, etc... so.

lived in NMS, it probably still wouldn't bother you. That's because most people are well adjusted, normal, reasonable people who find ways of accepting and adjusting to behavior from other people they dislike.

Hotdiggitydog on the other hand, sounds like he is harboring genuine disdain and ill will for any bearz fan he come into contact with for shoving our elitism down his throat. I'm pretty sure his post wasn't sarcasm, snark or troll bait. And if it's true that he feels that way, he's got some real issues. I just felt like pointing that out. That's all.

And I think we can ALL agree that sidewalk Bama fans from MS are the primordial ooze of the college football fan universe. Worst **** I've ever seen.

Well as the resident elitist you should know that a strawberry lager and crawfish is a terrible pairing. The spiciness of the crawfish boil would totally overpower the delicate flavors of that lager. Pfft. Amateur.
