Finebaum asked whey MSU continued to recruit Newton, and some sports radio guy - who clearly hasn't followed this very closely -- is suggesting that MSU was trying to pay the money.

State is not a destination point in college athletics. It's just not. If you think it is you are either Larry Templeton* or fooling yourself.

That's all I need to know about the side who thinks we were in the wrong here...

Finebaum still claiming we turned in Auburn. Dawgs taking a pounding on never saying "no" to the money. Except no one can explain why we would report in the first place if we had ever been bargaining.

to think we were trying to pay the guy and then turned around and made an issue out of this. I can't believe we would be stupid enough to turn this in if our administration didn't check this out thoroughly and determine we were pretty darn clean in all of this.

he kept trying to turn the conversation into Mississippi State is dirty and no one would follow up with his train of thought. I wish State fans in his listening area would bash the **** of him

The guy says "I never heard MSU saying 'No'". And, yet, he mentioned that ALLEGED hotel room meeting with the coaches, in which the coaches said "NO, no, no". Also, when Bond contacted Byrne, Byrne said we weren't going to pay and instructed Bell to stop talking to Cecil.

Finally, the school said "No" simply by not paying....

..it sounds like to me he is the official publicist for Auburn football.

Somebody needs to call Finebaum & ask him how much Auburn is paying him to push pro-Auburn propaganda.

Because judging from all the reliable sources I'm reading about what is going on in Camgate, it sounds like to me Finebaum is lying out of his *** about virtually everything.

Just let Bama beat Auburn next week and then all he will talk about it how Alabama was the better team all year long and the wrong team is going to ATL and on and on and on. Until Bama is really down again, at which time he will pounce on them at every opportunity. He's an opportunistic entertainer, with no allegiance to anyone other than himself and his massive, massive bank account.

has Bell and Bond been saying from the beginning that they are coming out with all this info so that it would be known that State is clean in all this. And Finebaum is the biggest piece of slime in sports media world. I wish a State fan would call in and call him out on his ********. Does he REALLY think the FBI is investigating Cam's recruitment at Auburn because they DON'T think Auburn paid him? That being said, this is not a Miss State vs. Auburn issue, but a Right vs.Wrong issue, and we know what side Paul Finebaum is on.

...why give the idiot the benefit of the doubt?

He makes **** up & purposely ignores the facts as a means to keep his audience whipped into a frenzy.

Finebaum sounds like a true lowlife to me. It would be nice if the FBI would question Mr. Finebaum, since he seems to have all the answers. It would funny watching this coward piss himself while being interrogated by some grim-faced G-Men.

Good point on the benefit of the doubt and that FBI investigating him would be great, but he would (if he knew anything) invoke his Shield rights.

I guess I say he's not on the take because this is just the guy's schtick. It's what he does, and he is VERY, VERY good at it. Just look back over the last 5-7 years. He was calling for Price to be fired, pissed of the Bammers. Then the whole Jetgate thing and he was all over Auburn. Then Auburn went undefeated and he was Lee County Man of the Year (not really but you get the point). Then Shula sucked and he should be fired. Then Rich Rodriguez came along for about a day and he made tacky comments about his wife that the Bammers blamed for RR turning the job down. Then Auburn started struggling and he started destroying Auburn. Then he and little Nicky got into (figurative) bed together.

It's just what he does.....lather, rinse, repeat.
