was when we won the Peach Bowl in 1999. Simply because that was the first time in my life as a MSU football fan that we had what I would consider a "dream season". We went 10-2, beat our archrival, went to a decent bowl and won the bowl. And the losses were "acceptable" in that we represented ourselves well and didn't get blown out.
Plus, that was the first time in my life that we had ever won a bowl when I was a cognizant fan. I wanted us to win that one really, really bad. We had come close in the other two Peach Bowls, but we blew it in 1993, and then you had Taite/Moulds douche us out of another one- which should have been a fairly easy win for us. Then the other two I remembered, we completely looked unprepared and embarassed ourselves against Air Force and then against Texas.
Jackie's bowl preparation was really, really bad, and one of my pet peeves about him. Even in the two that we won under him, we were fairly sloppy. Our defense in the 1999 Peach Bowl was too good for anyone to screw up, and then the Indy Bowl, while entertaining, had it's share of WTF moments- most notably John Micheal Marlin's Charlie Browning of the ball, and giving up tons of points. We're really very fortunate to have won that one, but I'll take it.
