I'm sure the Ole miss fans love this place after a loss because it shows how manic our fanbase can be.

Its like the woe is me, poor little ol MSU attitude of football fans has finally migrated over to the Hump. Poor little MSU can't obviously do any Bette so we will just hang on to an ineffective coach for half a decade more than he deserves. Maybe the Bury's will take the hint and leave on their own because half our fanbase is damn sure too gutless to expect more.

It's beyond ridiculous. Every single time we lose, the same idiots come out and call for Stans to be fired, say we suck, blah, blah, blah. Guess what, in college basketball upsets happen. Florida lost to Tennessee at home. A couple of weeks, ago, black coaching Jesus Anthony Grant gave South Carolina their only SEC win. The same Florida State team that beat Duke and UNC in back to back games lost to a pathetic Boston College team this week. I remember back early in the season after we lost to Akron, the same cliff jumpers that are out now were saying the season was over and we were the same train wreck we were last season. We then proceeded to win 12 games in a row. We've got two very winnable road games this week and I think the team will come out pissed off and ready to play. But if we win those games, I expect this board to be very quiet.

but I have zero problems calling out Stansbury for this game. This was an inexcusable loss.

his tenure as head coach. I mean 4th best SEC record during his tenure. We have no other sports team that can say that, so we have not only been better than mediocre, but we have been better than any other sports program at MSU during his tenure.<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>

NO way basketball has been superior to baseball during Stans' tenure...and baseball has been down during this time period. Since Stansbury became HC in 1998, we've been to Omaha twice, three additional super regionals, while making the tourney 10 of 14 years. 3 sweet 16s, 2 elite 8's. Not comparable.

I'm not fundamentally against supporting Stansbury at all... but let's do it on a logical basis...

SEC Baseball is recognized as the best in the nation. SEC Basketball is not the top conference. But, to compare against the rest of the SEC, Stansbury's record during his tenure is 4th best in the conference. I am not including post-season success, although we have won to SEC Tournament Championships during Stansbury's tenure and an overall SEC Regular season title. Have we won a SEC Regular season title in another sport during the past 14 years.?<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>

We've dealt with this same Stansbury bushit for 14 years. NO sweet 16 for instance.

And with ... what? less than 10 years? ... of Richard Williams?

Two sweet sixteen along with a FINAL FOUR.

I'm not making any long term judgment on Stans until after this season because honestly, there's no point in doing that when several things could happen-from as bad as missing the tournament to as good as making the elite eight or so (no I don't think we are capable of making the final four as some are. I think Sweet Sixteen or MAYBE elite eight is the cap). But the main point is, today should not have happened. Yes, upsets happen, but we've now lost two games at home we should not have. I'd be more forgiving if it were on the road.

You do realize that this and every board is comprised of many different people with many different opinions, right?

But the Bear boards are the same way after they lose a game, whether they were supposed to win or not. Fans getting upset at a loss and calling for the coach's head is not unusual at all.

(closely followed by Syracuse) came within an inch of losing to unranked Vanderbilt yesterday. Vandy played a great game and really put on a show with their comeback. They showed that UK players can be rattled just like any other team. They're not unbeatable.<div>
</div><div>I don't understand why Vandy is not ranked. Their record isn't much worse than ours ... of course, we may not be ranked after the Georgia loss. :) But I think we'll only drop two or three spots.</div><div>
</div><div>Florida's loss yesterday was worse than ours because they were ranked much higher. And I think Murray State got beat.</div><div>
</div><div>It was upset weekend.</div><div>

How many bad losses should this NCAA drought of a coach be allowed?

Georgia
Ole Miss
Akron

You could argue Arkansas was a bad loss because we gave up 98 points.

to a mediocre-at-best Georgia team who won 2 SEC games coming into ours. This loss counts much more than just a "loss..." because home losses count so much more than road losses. Same thing with Rider in 2009... we had a 10-6 SEC record (I think) with no signature wins and only a handful of bad losses, but that one game really stood out to the committee... so we were NIT bound and were knocked out at home in the second round. That's why this game is inexcusable. Forget UK right now... forget @Bama or @Auburn... our most important priority was to win these games at home... and we had very little room to mess up assuming we lose a few of those road games. That's why this game was inexcusable. <div>
</div><div>Ultimately our undoing was that we didn't pressure Georgia at all early on... they got comfortable and were confident that their best shooters could get a shot when they needed one. A top 20 team takes away what teams do best and makes them beat you with something else... and if they do, good for them... but they sure as hell don't let their best shooters get comfortable and confident early on by giving them the looks they want. We also got manhandled on the offensive glass by over double (18-7) which is a trademark to Mark Fox teams... and what we KNEW they would do... yet we were lazy as **** on the glass and they flat out dominated us getting 14 second chance points with only 4 turnovers. We put ZERO pressure on them defensively... we were completely and totally passive thinking we could cruise past this one and win the big games. That's exactly what happened and why this was such a bad loss.... It's why we almost lost to Auburn and LSU both at home... and if I were to bet, I bet we will have at least another head-scratching loss before the end of the season. This team is immature with a coach that only lives for big games while nearly ignoring the ones we NEED to win... and instead living only for the games he WANTS to win. Big difference between the two... and equates in NIT berths and 8 seed and below NCAA berths. Inexcusable.</div>

considering our bipolar basketball team. Today is depression, the OM win is mania. This team wins off nothing more than athletic talent. They are as uncoached as a team can be. Time and time again this team has been sabotaged by the lack of coaching from Stands. There is no excuse for a team this talented to have this many losses. And then to lose to Georgia? The ONLY team we have have played that matched our talent was Florida. UK will come into the Hump and hang 50 on us if we are lucky. Yeah, the faithful are truly disgusted with Stands. This team will lose or barely beat every team they should destroy on paper. Strickland needs to step up to the plate and hit a home run after the conclusion of this season. State has a reputation as a good BB school, there is no reason we can't bring in a better coach.

I guess he sucks too.

Edit: I do agree that Stans's *** ought to be blistered over this loss. And pretty much every player's except Bost, Steele and Sidney. Those 3 looked like they played with some effort yesterday. The other 4 just disappeared.

Was it like this? Your categorical statement is blatantly false. This type of stuff has been building with Stans for years
