I don't know what crunk means, but it sounds good.
From the CL
A host of high-profile recruits lined the sidelines and filled the stands during No. 3 Mississippi State's 38-23 victory over No. 2 Auburn on Saturday.
And it's safe to say they were impressed.
Here are some quick, instant reactions from recruits who were on hand:
Emmit Gooden, Brownsville (Tenn.) DE
"It was crazy. (Mississippi State) is my top school as of right now."
Note: Gooden made his second straight trip to Starkville this weekend. He previously named Ole Miss his leader.
Jamal Peters, Bassfield S (Mississippi State commit)
"It was a crazy game. Hail State. I'm so proud to be part of it."
With GameDay in town, MSU expected to host many high-profile visitors
Gabe Campbell, Yazoo City DE
"People now know how good State is and I'm saying that because they didn't even play at their best and they still beat the (No. 2) team in the nation. Just imagine what would've happened if they would've played a mistake-free game. It's really something to think about."
Note; Campbell was not in Starkville, but watched on TV.
Javious Bardney, Callaway OG
"It was awesome. I was pumped. I loved it. Everything (was my favorite part). MSU sideline was so crunk."
Harrison Moon, Signal Mountain (Tenn.) OT (Mississippi State commit)
"It really show what MSU football is all about right now. Great win. I think it's a big deal for recruiting. I think it makes a lot of top prospects really think about MSU. I think this win is showing a lot of kids that (MSU) football is for real. We have a lot going for us."
Keon Howard, Laurel QB
"That was just crazy."
Dontea Jones, Louisville WR (Mississippi State commit)
"(MSU) proved they need to be No. 1 in the nation."

There is a huge MSU presence in Brownsville. Rockey is from there, his parents used to coach/teach at Haywood High, Jarvis Varnado played there, as did Karl Williamson. A lot of kids from Brownsville go to State every year, markedly more than go to OM. I think there were eight from my graduating class (way back when) that went to State.

I don't follow recruiting, but I'm excited to get another Dontae Jones on campus, especially if he really does spell his name funny!

As the original Dontae once put his hand behind his head for a high flying fast break jam, I can see this Dontea putting his hand behind his head as he high steps it into the endzone after a long TD reception.

I was a student/admissions recruiter for MSU a few moons ago and Brownsville was in my territory. Got to know the high school counselors up there well. They treated State really good... Always had us right with the UTK folks. Got several kids to be Bulldogs from there.
