JUST IN: President Trump is backing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) new bill that would EXCLUDE illegal immigrants from the census. Once it’s law, the U.S. Census Bureau will be REQUIRED to conduct a new census “immediately.”

Democrats would be poised to lose House seats and electoral college votes if passed.

Greene wrote on 𝕏: “I just got off the phone with President Trump!! I told [Trump] about my new bill I am introducing that will save America’s elections from ever being stolen again!”

“My bill will require the U.S. Census Bureau to conduct a new census immediately upon enactment of the bill. In conducting the new census of the U.S. population, it shall require questions determining the citizenship of each individual, and count US citizens only.”

“Upon completion of the census, the bill will direct states to immediately begin a redistricting of all U.S. House seats process using only the population of United States citizens.”

Imagine trying to change how we conduct a non political accounting of the people in our country, because you think it will help you win elections. Not actually help the country at all. Just a political party.

Also, what is this rhetoric against immigrants with status about? I thought those were the good ones?

Fine, let's do it. Red states like Florida and Texas would lose seats too so in the end it wouldn't make much difference.

Joe Biden’s crooked census counted millions of illegals who should’ve never been here and should’ve never been counted.

Blue states got rewarded. Red states got shortchanged.

My bill does three simple things:

Orders a new census counting only American citizens.

Directs states to redraw House district lines based on that citizen-only count.

Ensures only American citizens can vote in federal elections.

President Trump supports my bill, and so do governors across the country.

This is a common sense thing, IMHO. If the census is used to apportion federal funding and representitves in the house, then it stands to reason that we should do that on the basis of US citizens only and not on total headcount regardless of immigration / citizenship status. It also removes an incentive for states to not support immigration enforcement.

thinking about it, we award congressional seats on the basis of total population, including those in the country illegally. But when we have an election only legal citizens can vote. Seems a little incongruous.

Of course it’s common sense. Now I think non-citizens who are here legally (green cards, work visas, etc) are fine, but it makes no sense whatsoever to include illegals in how we appropriate congressional representation and federal funding. I don’t know how anyone can argue otherwise.

The constitution says to count an "actual enumeration" while also giving congress authority to set the manner in which the cesus is performed.

Of course it makes logical sense that only people who can vote would be counted, but as we have seen logic doesn't always win.

An interesting development to watch and would be a huge win for the anti-globalists if something can be codified into law.
