I think the PSU game was a hangover from the OSU game. RU has a legit chance against them and it will not be decided by officials no matter what some may think.

We shall see.

Here's what I see with certain "name" Big Ten teams and we saw it earlier this year with Ohio State.

1) Ohio State doesn't need the help.

2) if it is a tight game.. the "name" OL will begin to hold egregiously and open holes and gash us. no calls will be made... or not enough of them.

2A) I have witnessed this both with Penn STate and Michigan when the score was close at the half. It looked like the halftime instruction was open holes, I don't care how you do it.

3) for every call against them.. there will be a matching one against us.. but not the other way around.

4) replay booth will stop plays for them.. to see if something should be called against us.. but not to stop them from snapping the ball after they know they lost a fumble.. or stepped out of bounds.. or whatever.

5) we will get the even-things-up calls only after the game is safe for the opponent and out of reach for us.

This is life as a Rutgers fan in the Big Ten. We are clearly 2nd or 3rd class citizens where Big Ten officials are concerned. This is shown in a hundred different ways.. ball spots,.. clock operator "errors".. not stopping the clock when we need that.. stopping teh clock when "they" need it... standing over teh ball far too long for subs for the opposing defense after spotting the ball quickly and starting the play clock.. leaving us no time.

That is something they need to adjust rules for.. like the defense must sub within 5 seconds of the offense subbing.. or saying the offense must sub before 20 seconds on the play clock and defense must sub before 15 seconds on play clock because 10 seconds left the ref will leave teh ball to be snapped at will.

Instead of defense getting to see offense personnel.. how about they make their decisions by down and distance? Just say.. the offense cannot snap the ball before 15 second mark on the play clock outside the 2-minute warning... that gives both sides 10 seconds to sub. And if a late sub is made the ref can stand on the ball for 5 seconds... but that ball CAN get snapped anywhere from 10-1 seconds regardless of subs... hustle off and on the field if you want to sub.

On Wisconsin game re: refs comment from earlier... just made a fair call on intentional grounding against OSU.. I like that head ref.. saw him call another game fairly.. as far as his calls.. one of our games.. at least 2 others on his squad were suspect/incompetent.. too bad we won't get him next week for OSU... he can clean up the worst bad calls to some degree.

Lot of interesting games today including Kansas over Oklahoma, Northwestern over Maryland, and UCLA taking out Colorado. Stanford gave U Wash a run for its money as did Cal with USC and Wisconsin with Ohio State. Difference in a couple of those games was simply turnovers.

The more football I see the better our team is looking. Just look what VT, NW and Indy did today No one looking all that dominant I won’t be surprised if we go 4-0 or 0-4 the next 4 weeks. Either is possible

After watching NW beat Maryland and PSU squeaking by Indy, I have a lot better feeling about playing them too. I know the transitive property need not apply, but damn! 😁
Agree completely. MD has lost 2 straight games to a team we beat and to a team we would likely beat, although they also were very close to OSU until the 4Q. To me that means they're definitely beatable. And PSU just hasn't looked that impressive most of the season to me, especiallyagainst IU today, as I haven't been that impressed with their QB, Allar, so while we know they have a fair amount more talent, I think we'll at least be competitive with them and one never knows what can happen in a close game.

I think Maryland gets WHOOPED next Saturday by PSU. Today was there "oopsie" game.
Last week was also their oopsie game. They are an undisciplined team that believes they were ready to beat tOSU, and when that didn’t happen they lost their drive. Not sure they will win another game.
But we have had real problems with their QB so we cerycant take them for granted.

Sorry but any loss will bring out the same naysayers
/haters who relish attacking RU and Schiano----some "fans" suck. Let's hope to compete and not anticipate anything.
