As mentioned previously, it's just too early in the season for $2.00 /lb crawfish. However, the price should start dropping rapidly if there is a good crop this year. We've done crawfish boils ever year in March and April and usually paid between $2.00 and $2.50 per pound in Starkville...
i am no crawfish farmer but heard on local news station other night that with the wet winter we've had, plus as others have mentioned, being so early, their just aren't many out and ones that do are small...then there is that whole supply demand thing.
it's too cold right now and the crawfish aren't out. Earlier in the season, they were around 3.75-4.00/pound. Since the cold snap, the crawfish aren't coming out.
