I think, maybe Dan is telling the truth, aaaaand he really liked the kid, aaaaand maybe is possibly an ethical head coach, aaaand maybe didn't want to ruin the kids life. That's why he really didn't want to push the matter with the SEC. Yes, it cost us a win against Auburn, but I think he really didn't want it on his conscence that he was the one that blew the whistle.

Remember, he was possibly the closest authority figure to Cam during his career at Florida and his stint at Blinn that wasn't trying to pimp him out. I think Mullen is a really good guy and even though Cam is ultimately responsible for his world going to ****, Mullen didn't want to be the executioner...

We didn't want to take down Auburn. We didn't want to take down Cam. We didn't want to be this involved. But, at the same time, we had to report what had happened to the SEC. Thus, we reported generics, then followed that up by dragging our feet on getting more specific information to the SEC. It's pretty clear we didn't want all of this, but really had no choice.

pretty sure the SEC had just about everything in July - - if they had all of this in July, theySHOULD HAVE put the brakes on all of it -Cam never should have played a down, and thefact that Slive and team let it goonshould get himand everyone down to the coffee preparer run out of birmingham - absolutely embarrasing to theourproud conference.

I agree with the majority of all the posts except what the SEC / NCAA had was what we gave them only which was probably not enough to pull sanctions. I'm sure Auburn had it as well, but they went out and made damn sure the tracks were covered up or were living in a CAVE before they let CAM play.

The problem is I doubt they had Kenny's side of the story, some follow on tapes, etc. And until the FBI got involved I'm sure they would not have either......Unless the NCAA can find the money / gifts (Church Construction) Auburn will slip under the crack. Their problem will be everything that has come out in the last 24 - 2 weeks. When they play CAM this weekend it could be the real deal especially with the NCAA coming out yesterday in the ESPN article about a school is responsible for sitting players that could be ineligible.
