4 Wr's in a route. Our current avg height of 6' vs our future avg height of 6'4. Think of their wingspans as a circle or the area where they can haul in a pass, including their bodies and areas close to it.
6'- avg wingspan is approx 6'4. Area of their catchable areas is 30.68 square feet per player. That number multiplied by the 4 players in a route is 122.72 square feet that the QB can throw a catchable ball.
6'4- avg wingspan is approx 6'9. Area of a catchable area is 35.77 square feet per player. That number multiplied by the 4 players in a route is 143.01 square feet that the QB can throw a catchable ball.
Quick Analysis- The taller WR's give a QB 20 more feet of target area. This should translate to higher completion %. These numbers obviously don't count in the defenders but the point stands. That many bigger guys makes bigger targets that should help a QB exponentially. Also, I hate geometry so I may have 17ed that up.
You realize we were like 30th in the country in sacks allowed this past season, right? We had our share of problems, but pass protection wasn't one of them.
NTI would be surprised if DeeeeRunnnya isnt a TE before it is all said and done. Looks like a taller Malcolm Johnson to me - looks a lot more Aaron Hernandez than Larry Fitzgerald. Kid is already 215.
Smith and Gray are sub 6'0 burners and Austin may never get here. That really leaves just Chappelle, Hammond (who could be a TE eventually as well) and Christy as big WRs.
Really no telling where Wells and Holmes wind up on the field.
