flew down to Ft. Lauderdale from New York. Diaz is with him. Recruiting. So if that gets flared up, they had this trip planned weeks ago. He is not there because of anything to do with the Florida job. Just thought I would squash that before it got started.

That's a good sign. If Meyer were pushing for Dan to replace him, it would have been coordinated.
I know that statements by coaches should be taken with a grain of salt - especially when it comes to coaching. But, I do find Mullen's commenting at all a little curious. If he were in the middle of some discussion to take over for Meyer, he just would have remained silent. Commenting on it would mean he's straight up lying. Now, things could have changed significantly in the last few hours - but even in the era of the interwebs - reliable info doesn't travel THAT fast.
