"Favre is listed," Mullen laughed, "generously listed at 5-11. He can throw it though."

have indicated that Farve would be our next QB after Ralph. Otherwise, we are still looking for the right guy for the job.

and did you have this same don't give a **** attitude with Croom when he took over as HC ?? Were you looking forward to a good laugh if the coach fails as well ??? I finally get why people here don't like youCoach34 said:KurtRambis4 said:we have it. The final piece of evidence. You'd rather be "right" so you can say "I told you so" than TR succeeding.
give a **** if Russell succeeds or not, I just want us to have good QB play- name is not important. If we're winning with Russell, Farvuh...whatever...but if Russell does end up flopping, then yeah...that's funny to me after he was being called the best HS QB Mississippi has produced by Afrodawg and the legend that has grown on him
I agree with this except I think with only 2 games left it is urgent at this point to get Russell more PT. We've failed in getting him enough developmental reps this season - and Mullen says pretty much that after most games.dawgstudent said:to me - he has a 1000 times better pocket awareness than Relf. If the pocket collapses - I think he just won't sit there. So anything behind the LOS, I feel just as if not more comfortable with him over Relf. Until Russell gets better in passing, we have to stick with Relf. Relf is the one who can make a 2 yard gain a 5 yard gain because he is much harder to tackle.
But to me - in straightline speed - there really isn't much difference between Russell and Relf and like I said - I feel much more comfortable with Russell in the pocket because he can actually recognize pressure. Relf just stands there flat footed.
But as it stands right now, Relf > Russell because of what we do.
I think Relf is faster too. But Russell is serviceable at running.paindonthurt said:But to me - in straightline speed - there really isn't much difference between Russell and Relf and like I said
Russell doesn't run nearly as fast as Relf. Russell isn't Peyton Manning, but I'd say at best he runs a 4.85. At best. Relf is much faster than Russell. I'll bet $500 on it.
As far as pocket awareness and getting out of trouble, I agree completely.
