as MSU's future QB, and did he truly fit in. Scott's answer, was no not with the offense MSU was using, due to his running ability, etc. as we know. Then he said, sources (close to the team)
have indicated that Farve would be our next QB after Ralph. Otherwise, we are still looking for the right guy for the job.
Like clockwork, MSU's most recently signed QB becomes the savior-in-waiting.

1. No, we won't be as effective running when Tyler takes over because he is no threat to run the football- and he isn't- no matter how many times you say he is

2. Agree with no DS, no doubt having better WR's would make Ralph better too

3. We will get with Russell something very similar to what LSU gets from J. Lee

4. If Russell brought everything to the table you say he does, he would be starting right now

All we can do is wait and see where it goes during the Spring and then next Fall...everybody is pretty entrenched in their beliefs

so it negates his lack of running ability in terms of RB production.

after that 1st drive? Go back and look at the possessions after we scored..they didnt back up, they came after him...how about his series vs Kentucky in a tight game? Stuffed on a run and 2 incompletions...

Facing a defense with the game on the line and then facing one in mop-up like he did vs Alcorn (INT, and should have had a 2nd), Houston, and Bammer (INT) are 2 different animals...teams are going to blitz the piss out of him when he starts playing when the game matters

If not, it really doesn't apply to what affect him being in there will have on the run game. LB blitzes can often be even more beneficial to the run.

I do know that he makes sense about all this stuff and all you dickgrabbers just love to feed coach34 your inferior minds so he can destroy them in a few paragraphs.

I agree with95% of 34's football posts, but ignore most basketball threads he is involved with. Thinking a guy makes sense, and worshipping him while calling all who oppose "dickgrabbers" are not the same thing. Itis really 17in strange.

Russell threw 3 picks vs LSU after that first drive...why? Because LSU didn't back up anymore- they walked up, blitzed, the safeties took away any quick throws to beat the blitz. Russell's arm didnt help back anyone off and it didn't help the run game either. We got stuffed on our possessions after that.

Russell averaged 4 yards on 4 runs vs LSU- and you guys are acting like he was just abusing them. I've never seen 16 rushing yards impress this many people so much before. The running game will suffer vs SEC defenses without a threat at QB to run the ball- it's that simple

the other 2 INT's was him getting mauled.

Those 16 yards proved that he can actually do it. On that TD drive, he ran that spread option pretty well. We haven't asked him to run much when he has played since.

But teams have brought the heat on Russell because he is a Redshirt Freshman Backup. And that is pretty much what you should do when a rf backup comes into a game. That's a comfort thing and has nothing to do with whether his arm will be able to stretch a defense.
