We have lost to Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss (our rival at their place), Northwestern (people act like they were a bad team, they are obviously a good team), Oklahoma State, and Auburn. 5 of those 7 were ranked teams, 1 a rivalry game, and 1 game we actually should have won. Under what coach would you expect us to have different results? We are Mississippi State. We play in the most difficult division in the history of college football. People are upset with what Mullen has done, but he is having the second most successful run we have had since the 1940s. We will never be a top flight team. I'm very disappointed about last night, but at the same time I am a realist.
I wanted Stansbury to take the Clemson job 3 years before he actually was let go. Stansbury consistently underachieved, Mullen has not underachieved. There is a big difference in basketball and football where half your games in basketball are non-conference and 33% of your games are non-con in football. Also, the SEC is a little bit better in football than basketball. I'm sure you are smart enough to know the difference.
