Right? Can you imagine going your whole life watching one team fail over and over again? Maybe even getting super close multiple times in multiple sports only to end every single season in every single sport a loser.

Virginia Tech, Kansas State, and UCF are the last remaining Power 4 teams without a natty. Of course, UCF has only been a Power 4 team for like 2 years.
Washington State was in that group, but they are no longer in a Power Conference.
I actually saw his name mentioned on the VT coaching search list on one of the major sites. I think it was CBS.
UCLA is a complete sh*tshow. They haven't even started classes yet (Sept 22). You could see a mass exodus of players. Their fans are completely apathetic, and their ath dept. is $100m in debt. On top of that, they owe Cal $30m over 3 years for leaving the Pac12. UCLA may be the better job long term, but VaTech is in a better position right now - football culture-wise, and ability to compete within their conference.
181K in Blacksburg metro area. Plus fairly close to a couple other areas that are total as big as the Jackson Metro (Roanoke and Christiansburg).
I don’t think most of our fanbase really realizes what we’re up against when it comes to our ‘ruralness’. Manhattan KS is the only real comp. And it the same distance to KC (2.3M) as we are from Jacktown and Birmingham, 1.7M or so combined.
