and we are exposing our players to injury right now with the reckless abandon on the bases. If Stark tore a tendon he's likely done for the year.

to say we are exposing people to injury b/c we put them is position to slide is unreasonable.

I understand we don't need to give away outs, but a runner on first is almost worthless with this team. I'd rather take some chances. Once we prove we can keep an inning alive, then we can slow it down. But yes, I see your point and its definitely a position worth taking too.

but no way was that ball Stark hit worth an effort to try and extend it to a double. Got to at least be smart about where you take your chances. I realize sliding is part of the game but just hate seeing a guy get hurt on a play he shouldn't have tried to make. Frustrating part was Porter came up and got plunked on the next pitch so Stark would have ended up at second anyway with one less out.

If he had not gotten hurt on the play, would you have been OK with it?


And my two cents- in baseball if you are playing to not get hurt, you're more likely to get hurt.
