They are a 5a school. Historically not a great football school. This website is great at showing history of Tennessee teams.

Here is a Johnson City Press pre season article.

@Appvol , you see South Pitts head coach resigned today?
Yes. Most posters on Coacht were calling him a snake oil salesman. He called SP his Dream Job when he took it and then only coaches one game. He is going back to the CFL to be the DC for Toronto Argonauts.

It was an overmatched opponent but I still saw positive signs tonight. The offense looked good regardless of opponent, starting to operate more cleanly minus the fumbles, which the backs have got to get a handle on. Defensively there's still obvious concern in 1 or 2 areas but things are moving in the right direction at others.

Wood was immense tonight on both sides, he must start or play heavy snaps on D moving forward, I don't think that's debatable after the impact he had tonight. He's a huge boost to the pass rush as well as containing the edge with his speed. The personnel combinations at LB used for parts of the night is the best that group has looked all season. Hopefully the staff has found the right recipe there.

@therealsquid I've got give a shoutout to #4 Carringer, he was thrown into the fire straight away having never played a snap before this year and he took his lumps early but he's improving incrementally each week at corner, keep it up kid.

Oh and one young man I'd like to see get a shot at some reps with the 1st team D is Grooms. I strongly feel he can add something in the secondary, he's got the physical measurables and was a solid starter in the secondary on JV 2 years ago. Tonight he showed really nice speed on the fumble return TD, kid deserves a chance in practice next week to earn some playing time with the 1st team D.
