People just need to calm down and give Watson time. As has been stated multiple times, he was thrown in a tough spot by the timing of all this. He's a damn good coach and I'm confident, with time, will get the kinks worked out on D and the coaching staff. Like fan15 said, you don't just walk down the hall and find a great defensive coordinator.

I know Murphy fans don't like losing but with what coaching staff we lost there wasn't a world that exists where we jumped right into this fall season without a few hiccups. Everybody needs to take a deep breath, relax, and let Watson get his staff sorted out and his plans implemented.

The statement spoiled comes from the fact that when we don’t win every game, there’s blame thrown out there immediately. I guarantee Watson would love to have the addition of an experienced Defensive Coach. However, I don’t think people realize that this isn’t college football and you can’t just go out there and recruit your own staff. There’s a lot of factors like teaching positions that come into play. You’re not going to walk down the hall at MHS and find a Coach Nelson or a Coach Gaither. Coach Gentry was very lucky with the staff he had. My point is there’s got to be some adjustment time and people need to realize that.
Yeah I'm in total agreement that there was always going to be an adjustment period and I cant speak for anyone else but I was always fine with giving Coach Watson the benefit of the doubt this year, more than happy to let him have the opportunity to fully implement his plan and staff.

Again I cant speak for anyone else but I know this isnt like college football, I know you cant just go out and throw money at a coach and your good. But I also know if the administration will back Watson he can bring in his version of Gaither/Nelson. You said there is no Gaither or Nelson walking the halls at Murphy, that's true. Gaither wasnt walking the halls at Murphy either, Gentry went out of state and brought him in. Nelson wasn't walking the halls at Murphy either, Gentry went out of state and brought him home. Watson is going to have to do the same, I never said it was simple but he's got to find his defensive version of that one way or another.

I honestly hope the powers that be do give Coach Watson the opportunity to bring someone in. Things are tough with county politics and the possible school consolidation. It’s not guaranteed that he’s going to get that kind of support when it comes to funding a teaching position/coaching position. The dynamics are way different when Gaither came thirty years ago and even Nelson 10+ years ago.

The fact that Gentry and others didn’t even have teaching positions at the school makes it doubly tough. Without teaching positions it’s hard to get coaches. Murphy fans are sort of suffering through a divorce after 40 years - all of a sudden that other person (Gentry) isn’t there. And everything is just different. Nothing seems normal. That’s to be expected. Time will settle things down. I don’t know if i would expect a new coach to have the same success as Gentry (sort of like when Saban leaves Bama). It’s a much tougher 1A now with no splits and bigger schools with traditions down. It’s going to be challenging.

That's a fair point for sure. I heard Murphy had the opportunity to bring Mulligan home this offseason to coach the line and the administration twittled their thumbs and drug their feet until Mulligan ended up elsewhere. I hope Watson will get the needed administrative support to be successful, if he cant bring anyone in due to lack of support then people need to direct their discontent higher up the food chain.

Well when my taxes raised over $100 this year, and raised $100 year before,. That's was over a $200 increase in 2 years,,,, cause of it,,,,, it better not slow it down
If you keep losing lawsuits and they do a re evaluation based on covid sale prices for property you’ll be lucky if it doesn’t double your taxes

Murphy had 2 starting o-lineman out last night and I thought the line played better in spite of it, I hope the o-line that was used last night is the one they roll with against Andrews next week.

Murphy started a freshman #51 at MLB last night and played another freshman #17 quite a few snaps at DE. #17 needs to play more snaps moving forward, he looked good last night, he'll probably be their best d-lineman by next fall in my opinion.

Was also nice seeing Rumfelt involved in the running game, Rumfelt gashed them a few times, I hope that's something we see a little more of with the Murphy O moving forward.
