Murphy vs Northside Pinetown 1A Title Game

The finals were the 30th anyway. Murphy is just hitting their stride even with a few starters out. This really should be another title game like last season.
I am really happy to see Northside in the finals, but Murphy is a different deal.

Yea and Robbinsville was gonna walk us, so we know we have to bring same intensity.
I hope Northside puts up a good fight, but if Murphy is what everyone says they are - Northside will have a hard time staying within 30pts of Murphy
Murphy barely escaped elkin , they should beat this team by the stats , but they are not that great .
Elkin was way better than everyone is giving them credit for. This game will not be close.
I disagree that it was miracle, it was not. Murphy played their worst game in the conference championship. Turned the ball over 4 times. You can’t beat good football teams when you put the ball on the ground. Friday night was not a fluke, the better team won period. Murphy beat a TJ team that would probably be playing for a title had they got past Murphy. Elkin was a lot better than I thought, to say other wise just isn’t true. Murphy handled rville in every phase of the game, total domination, not a fluke or a miracle. Murphy dominated the line of scrimmage averaging over 5 yards a carry and their defense kept rvilles RBs contained all night. Confident energized week of practice going into that game and it showed on the field. Robbinsville had a good football team this season, Collins was one of the best I’ve seen out of rville in awhile but the better team won.

Robbinsville has been the number 1 ranked team on this website for most of the year - and Murphy just beat them.....Tarboro was up 47-0 at halftime against Northside earlier this year. That’s my reasoning behind my comments.
I think you are both right. I think nole is correct that Murphy making it this far is miraculous given all of the attrition, dont think that's debatable personally. It's not an indictment of their talent or saying Murphy wasnt better than the teams they beat, it's just any other 1A team (with the probable exception of Tarboro) wouldn't have been able to withstand the number of personnel losses that Murphy has before and during this season and made it this far.
I agree with most of what you said as well. Murphy had turnovers in the first Robbinsville game that basically stopped them in their tracks before they could get going. But I also think the Murphy gameplan for the rematch was better and the intensity level that Murphy players played with was much better, it was the first time in the last four meetings with Robbinsville that the Murphy players matched or exceeded the intensity level of Robbinsville and it resulted in a Murphy win. I agree that Thomas Jefferson was the best team Murphy played this season and I really think they would have won the title if Murphy hadn't taken care of them. I agree too that Elkin was a lot better team than they got credit for on here but I know for a fact Murphy players kind of underestimated them because of the Andrews game and they said as much. The first half of the Elkin game is the worst half of football that Murphy has played all season in my opinion (although you can make a great case for the first half of the first Robbinsville game too). If Murphy had done that against Thomas Jefferson or Robbinsville they wouldn't have won either of those games.

TJ was the best team Murphy played this year. Murphy just out coached TJ.
I was standing with some Swain, Murphy and Andrews fans at the game. They were all talking how Robbinsville had the better quarter back, the better running backs, the better line and the better kicker BUT tonight Murphy had the better heart. Robbinsville was outplayed and out coached. Robbinsville was flat, no emotion ..Even the fans weren't their normal selves. Just goes to show there is so much more to high school football than speed ,athletic ability, etc. I think Robbinsville thought they would steam roll Murphy again without much effort and if both teams played to their max potential,Robbinsville probably wins 8 out of 10 against Murphy. But Friday belonged to the Dogs. Coaching staff done an outstanding job having their players ready

I wasn't surprised with the outcome. We were due..Its so hard to keep a streak alive. Lots of pressure on the kids..They were so reved up for the Mitchell game,they didn't have anywhere to go but down. With our seniors Wachacha, Edwards, Hooper and Harrell hobbled on the sidelines and not being able to play defense, we were doomed from the get go.
However, I'm proud of this class. One of the greatest to ever come through Robbinsville. A 35-3 varsity record if I'm not mistaken. 24 wins in a row. 2 SMC Championships and 1 State Championship..I will accept our loss and take a class like that any day of the week. Congratulations to Murphy and Robbinsville..No 2 better programs in the State
I would've been almost as peed about this year as 2014 if Murphy's season had ended without a title knowing how good they could've and would've been all season with those 9 kids they didnt have last Friday night. Murphy should have won conference and state both years in my opinion but fate thought otherwise. A state title this season would certainly ease some of that but no, I wouldn't say it makes up for 2014

Well I didn’t see the first game between Murphy and Robbinsville but I watched every second Friday and I would never know Murphy was missing a thing. They dominated and after seeing that I would say Murphy would win 8 of 10. If the guys playing are not as good as the original starters then I wouldn’t want to see the true starters because they dominated every single facet of the game. I was and am truly impressed. I know nothing about the opponent this week but they have to be a very good football team to even stay on the field with Murphy. I would say the game will be a blow out in favor of Murphy. The only thing that may help the other team is the fact that Murphy doesn’t know them like they do Robbinsville. Preparation wise, speed etc. I have no doubt Gentry knows what to do though and he will adjust as the game goes. Good luck Dogs!!
Way more depth to small A west than any of the other 1A brackets this year.
There is no competition from the East in 1A. Murphy by as much as they want. Another one for the good ole SMC!
Murphy has to show up with the same intensity as last week, it would be foolish to overlook Northside.

nothing to talk about really. Just got beat. There might have been more to talk about if there was controversy or something lol, but that clearly wasn’t the case. Robbinsville never matched Murphy’s intensity and it showed
Robbinsville was not ready to play Football plus the beat up line finally showed. Found out today that #50 was playing with tore ACL,MCL and meniscus
3 years? I suppose you forget Murphy won State Championship two years ago and beat Robbinsville then. Robbinsville owned the last year. Thanks for your over exaggeration which shows your credibility or lack thereof.
Murphy looks great !!! But the penalties are stacking up big time and they are lucky that it’s not really hurting them
