Whoa Nelly then. I mentioned earlier this year that the 4 Wilkes County teams could possibly be the top 4 in the conference. This hasn't been established as of yet. I do believe that gone are the days of Starmount and Elkin beating teams before they even get off the bus. There's a new regime of kids in the schools now, that haven't the slightest bit of respect for names on jerseys. You actually have to beat them now. They're no longer afraid to compete and they expect to win, when they do. Still, respect due to Starmount and Elkin. They may be down this year, but it is still a big feather in your cap when you beat them, especially if you beat both of them in one season.
