1. It wasn't his worst game of the year, and if it was it didn't beat out Alabama and MU by much.
2. I hate Moncrief as a Rebel, but he's carried himself with a sense of class throughout his tenure and I wish him well at the next level. To my knowledge he doesn't run his mouth and just goes and gets it (his fans ran their mouth about him a bunch), and the fact that he said he was going to Ole Miss in like 10th grade and stuck to it... I can respect. I'd be too lucky if he ended up with the Saints, but we're not taking any WR's that early this year.
3. I'm not going to lie, I screamed like a 17ing ***** when they weren't ejected together, and I had to explain to everyone that he was their best player on D and I wanted him gone. After he pushed 2 different coaches I'm not sure I was correct in wanting him to stay. #96 proved his worth tonight. Glad we didn't have to showboat with him on O, and that goes back to the fact that no one knows who he is and the fact that he likes it that way... Keep it coming. Calhounz ma boi. That battle really only matters in about 2 and a half years.
4. I think he handled the kicking game perfectly tonight. At some point you have to come to terms with the fact that you have a bunch of guys who can't kick. Bell might have made that last kick in regulation (who knows really) and Bell might have been the correct call in the end-zone, but you've got to put it on your players at some point.
5. I heard 100 times before the game from ESPN that Wallace was a "good" runner but not a "great" runner, and limiting him on the run would make a difference. Whitley won the game tonight all by himself. A guy from Provine who tore his ACL and lost all of his serious offers came in after his second ligament injury after everyone wrote him off... and a week before earning his Master's?! 17... I don't have a Master's. I'm the same age as Whitley and I was in the same college, and while I can name you a list of guys who didn't come to the easy classes you didn't "have" to come to, he was at class EVERY DAY. 17 you if you're down on Nickoe. I can name dozens of backups that were in class every day, but I had the most respect for the defacto starters that showed up every single class knowing they didn't have to. Nickoe and Banks did.
