Came down from Central Indiana with my neighbor/friend who is a Wahoo native and NU grad.
He wore Red.....I wore Crimson and Cream!

First met up with the Hoosiers for Huskers chapter at their tailgate to support their scholarship program. Great, friendly and engaging people. Toured the Assembly Hall, some of the pregame activities, and walked out to another NU group's tailgate. This was an awesome setup with a monster of a portable grill/smoker and everything to go with it. Again, great, friendly and engaging people.
Sat on the east side of the stadium in the NU ticket block. Again with the great people.

The game was exciting for everyone, and noisy....among all of those NU fans...but polite, fun,
not abusive over-the-top stuff like one might see at other places. After three and a half hours of nailbiter football, NU came out on top. There were four or five fans around me who interacted during the game, and we shared handshakes and 'safe trip home' goodbyes; heartfelt goodbyes!

I hope the NU fans who traveled so far to support their team enjoyed, and were treated as well during their stay as I was treated among the rival fans. IU fans can learn a lot about supporting a football program from NU's fans.

Good luck this year, and see you in '19 in Lincoln!

I thought sure it was going to be a story that started "I never thought it would happen to me . . . ."

My son and I also attended. We've seen every Big Ten stadium except Rutgers and Maryland. Indiana has a nice campus and the stadium is quite nice-- it just needs to be full. They had a huge grass parking area with tons and tons of tailgating. It was very impressive, as were their coeds. Didn't notice any males there though.

One interesting note, we were in the Indiana section (section 5) through some free tickets from a Nebraska owned company with an office there. Just a few minutes into the game, a guy was walking up the steps shaking hands with people on both sides of the aisle. We thought it was a politician, but some Indiana fans pointed out it was their AD. He even stopped and shook our hands and thanked us for coming. Very classy gesture.

The town is very pretty and I would happily go back there again for a game.

There are some posts on the Indiana free board about how a fair number of NU fans were classless. One post said the NU fans were fine at the tailgates, but not nice in the stadium. Either the four or five people making those posts ran into our bad apples, or they were angry all the way around about the close loss and 3-game losing streak.

A couple of those posters are a little problematic on the IU boards....another thing that I thought should be mentioned, was that the game did not seem to get chippy at all.....didn't recall any incidents at all on the field......a credit to both staffs and players..
