I'm in complete overload. From twitter to facebook to rumors to whatever this all is WAY too much for one person to handle constantly. I have3 points to make:
1) Our fanbase is full of a bunch of idiots. I understand we haven't had much success in our history, but holy hell people. We've had 2 winning seasons in the last 10 years. Let's not forget that. These kids have grown up seeing Ole Miss usually do better overall than us, and have seen us put some really crappy teams on the field, yet we expect one season to reverse years of poor play by MSU. We did have a great season this past year and Ole Miss did have a terrible one, but we can't expect that and a couple of Egg Bowl winsto overwhelmingly make in state guys commit to us. Truth is, we are still behind in a lot of areas to most of the rest of the SEC.I agree we are on the rise, but we have to show a little more consistency for us to be legit recruiting threats to the middle and upper middle tier SEC schools for the bigger name guys. Our fanbase needs to chill out and sit back and not be as fanatical as it seems like we are starting to become.
2) We are forgetting that we still have a solid class, and still have a team that lost only 5 starting seniors this year. There are guys that have a ton of talent on this team. A couple of missed recruits aren't going to make or break us this year. There are tons of playmakers on this team, and we still are very young. I trust Dan, I trust the staff, and I trust that every year they are going to try and land the top talent they can so we continue to improve. Melting down over one kid is ridiculous.
3) We get them in Starkville next year, and they aren't going to win. They will struggle to get to a bowl, and we will get to another bowl. They can win the recruiting all they want, but our finished product over the last 2 years has beaten theirs, and that's all I care about. Until they come out and beat us with their supposedly superior talent and wedon't make it to adecent bowl game, only then will I begin to question how Dan is recruiting. </p>
