...personally I just don't know enough about him to get all super excited for any kind of dynasty here. I mean we could've done 100 times worse, but still... I just don't see him making a long run here at MS State.

I think it is a little bit of a mixture. he suupoposedly does the play calling in the offense he and meyer have put together. And to even put Smith and tebow in the same sentence is an insult to Tebow. He obviously did a lot with Smith

We don't need a coach to make a long run here. If he leaves in 4 or 5 years, then most likely he's had a good deal of success. We've moved up into the next pay bracket with the rest of the SEC, so we can't afford to keep a coach around for 13-15 years if we're getting nothing out of him. Jackie was brought in at the right time at MSU because we were an absolute nobody with no money, zero facilities, and a tiny stadium with tiny attendance. He, along with the natural growth of the SEC, helped us improve that greatly. Then, on the back end of his career our comfortable AD didn't have the balls to fire him and held on for 3 years too long. Jackie was the right guy for the job at the time, but he's long gone now. We have to get over the notion that every hire we make for the head football coach has to be here for life. It's not going to happen.

Fellas,

At least you'll be able to appreciate your continued mediocrity in super high definition on that beautiful new Dumbotron.

......we're a few years down the road, we're still losing, and our offense stinks to high heaven as it always has, then I'm going to approach this situation with a positive attitude. And why shouldn't we? What, are we worried about backtracking from all those "great" years of football we've had recently?

I just don't see what we have to lose here.

Tebow said he spent more time with Mullen than anybody else the last 3 years. We know Tebow is a great athlete. But so is Anthony Dixon. It takes more than athleticism to be a great football player.

My biggest question is on how he makes the transition from OC to HC. He changing from technician to CEO.

but I feel a need to answer this. It is because Dawgstudent is the Larry Templeton of this board, and I am the Greg Byrne, only if those guys were really fat. Unfortunately for us, this is still 2006 MSU.
