1. I live in DFW and I can tell you that TCU has had an enormous amount of support from DFW this year. You couldn't turn on the news or drive down the street this season without seeing it. Nobody was talking about t.u. (admittedly down) or A&M (surprisingly up), it was all Horned Frogs. Despite my protests to BCS bashing coworkers about there being a problem if your signature wins for the season were Utah and Oregon State, there are about a million homers over here. The problem is that was for this past season, a second straight BCS season. Their success is not sustainable and a marriage to the SEC would only precipitate that decline. For every bump they get in recruiting by being in a conference with national credibility, they'd lose it in eligibility issues to retain Tier 1 status. They'd either be middle of the pack or the Vandy of the West. Also, they're hot here, in DFW. Unless you're an alum, you're not going to be paying attention outside the metroplex. And we already have the SEC Network on Channel 21 here. Oh, and TCU has about 9,000 students at any given time.

2. A&M's footprint is much larger than Houston. You're thinking in terms of proximity, but there are as many A&M grads in DFW as the Houston area. (DFW is a bigger metro area than Houston, by the way.) All you have to do is look for grown men wearing their ridiculous class rings (cling to the past much?). In fact, adding A&M would give the SEC a foothold in DFW (6.3m), Houston (5.7m), San Antonio (2m), Austin (1.6m), El Paso (742k), and McAllen (726k). Even 'tiny' Corpus Christi rivals Jackson in terms of population. Those areas alone give the SEC access to about 17 million people, just by adding A&M. You're right, they can be dorks whose traditions borderline on the ridiculous, but they're an army and are spread throughout a population of 25 million.

Every 13 year old with computer access is running to this board to post the most bizarre thing they can think of and calling it "rumors" from their legit sources.

Hell, I can play too. Last I heard CJ was promised $450k to be delivered in monthly installments in the trunk of a brand new car (new car each month). He was also promised a blow job from every Ole Miss Homecoming Queen dating back to 1982, a penthouse apartment in Beverly Hills and a personal leer jet. Keep in mind this is all rumor, but it comes from my source who has NEVER been wrong.

Sure rumors are encouraged but the fact is that 99% of the posters in the past month are doing nothing but throwing **** at the wall in the hopes that it will increase their internet cred. This used to be a board where rumors tended to be true. Now its just a bunch of dubmasses trying to be cool.

In case you have forgotten, or just haven't been around long enough to know, this is also a board where we (at least used to) destroy people for being idiots. That's an old tradition that needs to return.

....and if I didn't think my source had access to good information, I wouldn't waste my time posting it. I know the people he works with so I know he has access to good information. He's passed on information to me in the past that I've not posted that's been spot on so I trust what he says.

I know everyone harps on providing names of sources and facts but I now understand why they don't post more information on their sources. First off, my friend has asked that I NOT reveal any information that could be linked directly back to him as it could effect his employment. Further, through my work experience, when you have someone with good contacts, you don't burn them, you continue to get information to build your case. Plus, my friend reads this board so I'm not going to say anything that could cause him any grief.

And a few of them like to tell me all of this "inside info" that they are privy to, based on their high roller status within the athletic office and on campus.

After a years of listening to what they have to say, I've come to the conclusion that they don't know ****, they just like to think they know ****.

I would imagine those aren't the only ones in our fanbase like that, or any school's fanbase for that matter.

you like posting the pic of that little old black lady? Is it for some racial comical reason? Just checking because there's nothing particular funny about it.

She looks completely baffled and suspicious of the trophy, almost like she was just walking past it when the photographer snapped the picture. The fact that she is also black has nothing to do with it, but nice try.

80k Mercedes at Um's athletic department could be ANYONE. Probably just some attorney driving his daughter to the place to introduce her around.

The only people that should be nervous that Ole miss was turned in is 17ing us. That's right. You not paying attention? The 17ing commissioner said everyone would be OFF probation by a certain date and his plan was to make everyone go through the SEC office first. Why to you think that is ? So he could be the one to deliver the news to the NCAAthat would make him a 17ing liar?

expansion is not a done deal. Not saying it wont happen. But expansion is just not going to happen as soon as people think.

Texas can afford to pay the buck to other schools to play them. Oklahoma and Texas A&M are dumb asses and will refuse to let the rivaly go. Nortre dame is a private school a limited to a certain extent on academics. Texas is not. One think you are leaving out. Texas fans are crazy as hell. Hell TCU and BSU were number three and number four in the BCS with out any love from the voters. That is not the case for Texas. They can schedule two or three really good teams and they got the love from the voters.
