Thanks Zap. He's a baseball player. A highlight of his life was meeting your Dad at the RU-USF game back in 2007.

More than a great student, more than a great athlete, more than a great kid. He has to be all 3. Congrats!

Something to be very proud of. We so often get so excited about a recruit on this board, but your son has committed to a hell of a lot more than an athletic program.

Fantastic, and if a big Rutgers fan has his son go to a school other than Rutgers, I'm glad it's one of the service academe's. Success is not far off for that young man.

Class of 2021. Very proud of his accomplishment, and on Veteran's Day. Now I have another school to root for. Go Navy, Beat Army!

And Go RU!
Congratulations! I know how much work he must have put in to get in. Very impressive.

Big CONGRATULATIONS to you, your son, your family, your parents, and their parents! It was a long time coming. The acceptance of the offer is validation of all the hard work by your son, but also validation of the sacrifices that you and your ancestors made to get him to this point in time. The sacrifices that you made to his mental health; his sports participation and you driving him everywhere; to his part time jobs; to supporting him at home with homework. THIS is a family victory and I salute you , dad!

I have many friends, coworkers, and acquaintances who are service academy grads and I have yet to meet one that regretted their decision. It says a lot about the character of the individuals who go, the ethics and commitment to service instilled by the academies, and the the households in which these fine men and women are raised. Make no mistake, it is as much as a credit to you as it is to your son for such a prestigious accomplishment. Congrats.

Exactly.

"It takes a village..." fits here.

Congrats to YOU too dad! These kind of young men and women don't happen just by accident.

Thank you and your family for sharing him with the rest of us.

Congratulations and you have every reason to be very proud of your son...I also live in the Boston area ( north shore). Where did your son go to high school? My son went to St John's Prep in Danvers ( which is also Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly's alma mater).

Absolutely OUTSTANDING! -A wonderful accomplishment in his young life, and as others have said, a tremendous validation of the job both you and your wife did in raising him.

Nothing is more honorable than service to country, and anyone who chooses that path is owed a debt of gratitude by all of us!
