my thoughts after watching replay

1. Brauchle and Hutchens are money. Thank God no Carlson and McAdams. Berry is a great returner. Special teams is back.

2. A. Dixon is much improved under Mullen.

3. Marcus Green has talent but how do you drop that 2-point conversion? Also, he misses blocks by simply being outworked. Marcus needs to take the panties off and man up. He has tons of potential.

4. Damien Anderson made a nice interception, but don't let that wash away the memory of him getting toasted for 3 games straight.

5. We can finally compete with people coach-wise. However, we will be out-talented against most everybody.

6. Relf is a running hoss but there is no confidence in his passing. He fits Mullen's system nicely, but why did we recruit this guy to run the WCO?

7. Elliot needs to learn how to carry the football correctly.

8. Damn it is nice to see offensive coaching. We are miles away from being great offensively, but Hevesy, Koenning, and Mullen have made huge strides over last year's idiots. You can really see the improvements in fundamentals and strategy.

9. We've got to find a way to get McRae, Berry, and Bumphis more involved in the passing game. QB is holding us back badly.

10. I loved Mullen catching Tyson Lee at midfield before halftime. He is always coaching and teaching. That is the way Saban, Meyer, etc. do it. You never stop coaching and teaching.

Bonus: I have watched Reggie Bush for a long time now. Norwood is better. PERIOD.

Marcus and the young receivers definitely need work on their blocking. Sure Dixon dances some, but he was not helped on the edge by missed blocks. I also thought that Brandon Heavens's last run should have gained some yards but the wide receivers didn't sustain their blocks.

is when the reporter asked him about it at the half. He took the blame off of Tyson by saying "we have to do a better job of coaching those situations in practice to prevent that from happening."

Mullen would have us knocking on the door of a bowl game with someone like him this year. I am not saying we would win 6 but we would be close in enough games to make lucky breaks possible. Croom left a guy who can't throw as well as most of our WRs and a walkon midget QB.

Who doesn't agree that Reggie Bush may be the 3rd best RB on the Saints this year. Bell is looking like a player and Thomas is just a better RB.

It's nice to know that we now have a coach that realizes what that little clock counting down during the game is for. Great clock management in the 4th and a great attempt just before the half. That's already 100% improvement over the last era. I think Lee was just used to giving up in the last few seconds before halftime. I'm glad that's changed!!!

#5 Yep, people can say what they want about Torbush, Mullen, schemes etc. Fact remains we have Sun Belt talent at most positions with the exception of a few here and there. I got a chance to watch alot of games Saturday. Our games vs. Vandy looked it was being played in slow motion compared to UF/UT, UA/UGA, AU/WVU.

It can be debated if Croom had talent when he arrived. I don't think there is any question about the level of talent Croom left.

if Crooms had gotten the ball with 1:30 left in the first half, and a 6-3 lead, he would've had us kneel on it. No question. Of course, his dumb *** never would've thought to call a timeout to force the punt in the first place.

I was glad to see us try to take the ball and score. It didn't work out, obviously, but at least we did what anyone with half a brain would do.

personally i've never seen anything more ignorant posted on here.
We have 4 RBs on our roster that could play just about anywhere. Bumphis, Sherrod, Tobias, Brignone, Green, McPhee, Love, Chaney, White, Wright, and Mitchell would be stars in any conference other than the SEC. Yes we are too thin. Yes our QBs and CBs leave a lot to be desired. This is probably the deepest year in the SEC....EVER. Lay off the 17'ing kids and get behind them or just go the 17 away. I don't understand how most of you asshats on here even call yourselves fans. You're so eager to appear open-minded and "unwooly" that you just end up being pessimistic ******** that would be better off at the bottom of the ocean.

just because some people are realistic doesnt mean they arent fans. i am one who points out what most people likely already know. so maybe my points are pointless. but im here just like the rest. i think most everyone is happy, now, with the coaching. there are soooo many things happening on and off the field that we didnt see a glimpse of witht he previous regime. but with that being said, there are some obvious issues. can they be fixed? no, probobally not. because our biggest problem is talent. what really kills ME is how bad our secondary is. there's no hiding it. there are better high school secondarys, and thats NOT a stretch! we're not going to win mnay more this yr. but with all that "negativity" being said, im not giving up on the players or anything of the sort. i will still be at the games. if there's nothing the coaches can do to remedy this, then fine. we play with what we have. and the only thing i would do as a coach right now is work nonstop with the defense, and play lee as our starter. we HAVE to have a passing threat of some sort. relf cant pass to himself. so, i would pass with lee at practice and teach the defense ways to do a better job of staying within a football field of other the recievers.
did i say anything that makes u think im not a fan?

1. Tobias Smith hasn't played a single snap of competitive football on the college level. NO ONE knows how good he actually is, and you're asserting he "could play just about anywhere." ********, until proven otherwise.

2. By your own admission, we suck at QB. Like the NFL, the SEC is a QB-driven league. You don't have one, you suck. Period. Ask TN. They beat Florida yesterday if they have a good QB on the roster. Lee couldn't even walk on at another SEC school. Relf ran the damn bone in HS and is having to be taught how to read pass coverages and throw essentially from scratch. You can't win with 2 QBs that awful.

3. CBs are going to get torched against the legitimate SEC passing offenses. Mallett, Tebow, Snead, Houston's QB are all going to have field days. And Zach Smith is a big hitter and great in run support, but awful in pass coverage. The only legitimate SEC DB we have is Charles Mitchell.

11. Mullen has to adjust to MState game officiating. You could tell he was pissed about the PI call on Zach Smith late in the game. He's used to that being a no-call at FL. Time to adjust to "MState won't be allowed to get away with ****. SEC Management." officiating.

Thus far there seem to be very few (knock on wood) injuries, which is excellent. I think that has something to say about the training staff.

2-1 with a healthy team going into a home game with lsu is about the best we could ask for.

We don't have any big injuries to date. Last season we had already lost chaney to his broken leg. That is one thing I couldn't be happier to see.

//We need to keep rebelbruiser as far away from this board and our players as possible this season
