Next question.
Andwhile a 15-15 season in'05-'06 isnt a losing season, itcertainly isnt a winning season.
Time for you toadjust your talking point.

We are poorlittle Mississippi State there is no way we can compete with the real teamsin the NCAA tourney, let's just be happy with our 20 win season, another SEC West Title and a NIT bid. I bet you bought that SEC West Champs T-shirt...whatever said:We've been .500 or better in conference play 8 of the last 9 years.
You go .500 or better in ANY of the top 4 to 6 conferences in college football, then you're in a bowl.
Stans is 85-59 in SEC regular season play the last 9 years, a 60% winning percentage, which is similar to AVERAGING a 5-3 conference record in football. A 5-3 record in the Big East, Big 10, Pac 10, or any major conference gets you a bowl each year.
Are we declining? Yes, but we're not having sub .500 seasons in league play or worse like Sherrill and Polk had MULTIPLE times before being shown the door.
We've got a shot to be good next year w/ Sidney and Smith, and it'd be foolish to fire him this year when he might be lining up our best class possibly ever in 2011.
Again, I neversaid I was happy or satisfied w/ the year. I think everyone on here wants and hopes for better,AND thinks we can get there in basketball (while they're skeptical that we could ever be a top25 team consistently in football)fishwater99 said:We are poorlittle Mississippi State there is no way we can compete with the real teamsin the NCAA tourney, let's just be happy with our 20 win season, another SEC West Title and a NIT bid. whatever said:Actually you're the idiot (notice the apostrophe re)
85-59 (averaging out to be 9.5-6.5 inSEC play)the last 9 years is a 59% winning percentage, 5-3 is a 62% winning percentage, see the similarities? Didn't think so...
Also, if you'll notice, I wasn't talking about the SECW in basketball necessarily. I said, if you have .500 record or above in ANY conference in football, you're in a bowl with 2 OOC wins. So, the winner of the worst division in college football (in the top 6 conferences) ALWAYS makes a bowl. So maybe your perception means that the NIT = no bowl, but in actuality, everyone w/ a winning conference record in football makes a bowl game.
Make sense?
I didn'tsay the SEC in football necessarily, but isn't going10-6 in the SEC in basketball just as hard or harder than going 5-3 in the Big East, Pac 10, or Big 10 in football?hatfieldms wrote:It is much harder to go 5-3 in the SEC in foortball than it is to go 10-6 in the SEC in basketball
