be the best you can be, winning championships, money, do your best because Jesus wants us to do our best because he gave his all- etc.
But to be the best so that you can get "payback" on all the people that slighted you is petty and stupid.
I can guarantee you that every single pro athlete had someone tell them they "couldn't" do something or was "slighted" at some point- like Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice in the NFL draft. But the difference is, those players and most of the other athletes in the world don't really care about that once they've actaully accomplished something, and if they do they don't dwell on it and call people out during their HOF induction.
