Total bs. He’s 100% correct. But, certain ppl these days seem to be more bothered by ppl mentioning these issues than the actual issues, themselves. El Paso has been completely overrun with illegal immigrants. Hundreds of them line the downtown streets in a make shift homeless type camp. They are even taking over airports, bus stations & anywhere else they can get into. Their democratic mayor issued a state of emergency for damn good reason. It’s insane that this announcer would be punished, in any way, for simply observing & speaking the truth.
Suspended for honesty, huh.

It's a mess in El Paso, but being right doesn't always mean you have a platform. He's employed to call football games. I doubt the university or the network are happy. They have a right to expect him to stay in his lane on the air. He's a moron, but not because he thinks the border is a mess.

It seems the ESPN has no problem with whatever comments you are referencing. That's the difference. You don't have a right to expect your employer to validate your on the job political speech in broadcasting.

Was always conflicted about that. Who's pressing who's politics in that situation? Frankly, in my personal opinion, it was a poor decision to kneel, and an equally poor decision to get bent over it. The flag and anthem deserve everyone's respect in my opinion, but I'll grant someone the right to make a statement too. Taking teams out of the pre-game worked for me as an employer reaction... "I won't make you show respect, but I won't let you show disrespect either." Fair enough. Not every damn thing we do needs to be politicized.
