Good God, I unfortunately made my way over to see what was going on. That board is an embarrassment. No wonder they all hang out here

I've tried reading that board before, but there was just way too much cussing. My Methodist ears can tolerate a little swearing (like the PG-13 level that happens here), but when the F-Bomb is getting dropped every third word I have to find the exit. Southern Miss's Eaglepost.net is just as bad if not worse.
Nafoom has a useful mission it fulfills. Anytime an MSU fan gets a little comfortable or complacent with the relationship between the two schools he/she needs to go to that board for a refresher course in what the general Ole Miss fan base is about. Please spare me that they represent only a "fringe element" because they don`t...they are a pretty good snap shot of the Ole Miss family at large. If you don`t believe me it`s OK, just live and keep your eyes open and you`ll see.
I'm sure there will be a thread about this over there started by Tex or Johnboy or whoever else. Our obsession about their obsession of our obsession of their obsession of obsession. #obsessed
I was surprised at the amount of hate they are spewing this week. Everything is "starkville sucks, nowhere to eat, gameday crew likes Oxford better, cowbells are louder than yelling, MSU has a dumb fanbase, ugly campus and ours is beautiful, last year for cowbells, you tube vidoes of dumb state fans, state has no tradition, steals our traditions, junction sucks"..... it goes on and on. Do we ever go to that level of crazyness? It's a few posters that do all the talking over there. I mean, imagine if you thought like some of those guys.
When they all left for the new board, they didnt invite the rubes. The result is what you see. I miss nafoom actually.
It's called jealousy. We got College Gameday a week after they did despite the fact that we haven't been prostituting ourselves to ESPN for the past 20 years to get selected. I've been to Ole Miss's campus and have seen the Grove....Survey Says: not anything better than what MSU has to offer. In fact, I believe our campus is prettier and our tailgating experience more inviting and just as enjoyable. Ole Miss just has the hype.
I had never really been to their campus until a couple of years ago when one of my tennis teams made the state tournament and it was held in Oxford. The square was pretty ordinary looking but had a couple of excellent restaurants and atmosphere, so it was pretty cool. Campus and the rest of the town in general were definitely less than I had expected though.
I love reading the responses on Twitter to all the GameDay stuff this week. 90% of it is Ole Miss fans saying how Starkville sucks [insert comment about having sex with livestock] when I bet my bottom dollar that most if not all have never been to Starkville.
Let me tell you... The ride through Pontotoc to get to Oxford isn't much better than West Point, and there are 10x the amount of cows.
ETA: The new city hall will do wonders for downtown. It finally closes off the open end and will allow developers to do something with the tumbleweed-style Main Street.

I thought y'all wanted to be our rival. I mean, when we're not discussing MSU enough or we talk about our real rival LSU, y'all get all upset.
But then when we're making fun of y'all and talking about y'all a lot (things that rivals do, particularly when they are tied for #3 in the nation and y'all are hosting Gameday), y'all get all upset.

I can't speak for everyone here but my biggest problem with the group that ruins
your board is that they can never admit anything is good at all about MSU or Starkville. I think it is safe to say things get out of hand over here from time to time with the Ole Miss hate but I do believe there are plenty of posters willing to give Ole Miss their due when they deserve it. I am sure there are a few readers of Nafoom that would have some good things to say about MSU but they are scared to death to say them for the beating they would take.
Again, just my opinion and thanks for posting on our board. You are a bright and entertaining guy, most of the time*.
