I was having a conversation about how good the program would be if mississippi only had 1 university. We were trying to make the combined team, but i couldn't think of many current Bears that would replace existing bulldogs.

What Ole miss players would start if they were a bulldog?

Would we start Masoli?

would start for us. Bolden is not a bad player. I don't know if you can consider splitting time with Ballard as starting, but I think he would see significant playing time. Jeff Scott would fit well in Mullen's system, and I could see Markeith Sumners starting at WR for us. I guess Masoli would start for us, to.

Allen Walker to give us a full set of LB's. I would take Summers to give us another WR. And Masoli's talent, (I really don't want Masoli himself though) at QB. And lastly, Powe could give us DT depth and a guy on the team to read toless fortunate elementarykids.

The good news is that if we combined, we could still play our home games at Scott Field and they would never know the difference since they think the game is played in the Grove and could continue their current tradition of watching it from there.

Honestly, I would say that Nathan S. would be most likely to start for MSU. Ok, so I twisted the question a little bit, but honestly, he prolly wishes he could be starting for another team after teh way he was treated by $!%!.

Ya'll are in the process of having your 2nd non ****** season in a overwhelmingly ****** decade and you think you're a pro team needing free agents. For ***** and giggles, I'll play along. I would take your entire offensive line and that's about it on offense. I'd take Chris White on defense in a heartbeat. Not that he is first round talent, but he is the epitome of a field general and makes sure everybody is in the right place and doing their job. Our Sr. LB's don't know where they are suppose to line up much less tell others what to do.</p>

He wouldn't start. But I'd put him on our roster.

And I think Chris Wilson could un-pussify Powe.

He's worked on his quickness, and he's quick enough to get the corner on SEC teams this year. I can't tell you how many times he's bounced a run outside and beaten the defenders to the corner. He's really made a load of improvement from his first year. I haven't seen enough of your team to know if he'd start, but he'd be splitting reps 50/50 at the very least.

You'd also take DT Shackelford in a heartbeat.

I do think this is a stupid topic though unless you just think Croom really out-recruited Orgeron, which is possible given what we each have in our upper classes.

Let's post **** that even you admit you can't back up. You are terrible.

Yeah, I'd take him. At LB, and he'd still be the 3rd best linebacker on our team. There's not DT on our team he'd start over.

Don't know if he'd beat out Cox/Boyd/Carmon but I certainly wouldn't mind him and/or ewoP.

I'm sure there are a handful others, I just don't watch them in detail enough to say for certain. I don't know if he'd start because he's only a sophomore, but Shackelford would get significant PT. I love watching that guy play. He is a play maker and is extremely versatile - I'm sure Diaz would love to have a guy like that to use in his blitz packages.

Realistically, there's no way our talent level has passed them already. So let's not act like they are D2 scrubs. Just be happy we have a coach that knows how to use what we've got. I'd take decent coached up talent all day before a roster full of great players all pulling in different directions.

We would take Masoli in a heartbeat, and might be 9-0 with him, assuming everything else played out the same.

Bolden would at least split time with Ballard.
That freshman, Scott, would see the field in Mullen's offense simply because he is so fast
Bobby Massie would probably start somewhere on the OL
One of their taller WRs might be able to start
We'd take Lockett (uninjured) in a heartbeat and start him
Same for Powe
Laurent would get a lot of snaps at DT as well (and would probably start if you took Powe out of the equation)
We would HAVE TO HAVE one of their LBs - probably DT Shackleford, though Cornell and Allen Walker would start as well at that third spot where we are lacking
Their secondary sucks, but Johnny Brown would get a lot of PT at one of the safety positions (probably)

Not to mention Ritter on KOs

You act like their team has no talent on it. That's pretty damn stupid. Their OL is really banged up and really young and their WRs aren't very good, but the rest of their offense isn't that bad. Their DL is (mostly) solid and so are their LBs. Their secondary is very young and not very good. They apparently also have an idiot coaching their Defense. For all of those reasons, and whatever other ones, they just aren't very good this season. They do still have enough talent to be a bowl eligible team though, especially with their schedule.

They have enough talent to beat us. I'm with some of the others that already posted this, but this kind of thread has a tendency to make you look like a complete dubmass. Not that many of you need any help with that...

His name is DT. He doesn't play DT. He plays DE and LB.

Shackelford is a player period. I know he wears our colors, so that means he sucks to you, but he's a player.

As far as Bolden is concerned, he's 6th in the SEC in rushing. He would at the very least split time with Ballard evenly. I don't know why that bothers you, but the guy can play.

The offensive line is right on the money...so young and/or bad. We were thin and untested at DE to start. When Lockett went down and Dorsey simply didn't produce, it went to hell fast. Way too much covering having to be done at other positions for the complete lack of experience at DE. I think there's some talent there but they're young and inexperienced. They may suck, too, but too young to be able to tell one way or another.

He doesn't have quite the size, but he's made a similar transformation of himself.

Dixon was a 240+ pound back that lost weight to the 230 range if I recall, gained quickness and became a much better back. Bolden was in the 225 range and lost to the 210 range to gain quickness, but he does have a similar skill set. I don't think he's at the Dixon senior year level yet, but he's very similar in style and not that far off in ability. If he can make another good jump between his junior and senior years, he'll have a shot at getting drafted somewhere.

but either way, I knew he flipped back and forth from the line and LB. And I don't think he sucks. I just don't think he's better than White or Wright. He's just not, as much as you'd like him to be. Your defending your homerism by trying to call me out for it, but since I'm not being a homer here, you have no point. Perfect example of rebelbruiser being rebelbruiser.

And on Bolden, I wasn't talking about the talent of Bolden or whether he'd start for MSU. It was the fact that you said you hadn't seen alot of MSU, then said Bolden would split carries for sure. You contradicted yourself, as usual. Me, having seen both teams, I think Bolden would play for us. But at least my opinion is informed, not just made up out of penis envy like yours.
