I never cared anything for it until I went to a race. Was hooked for 4 or 5 years, but I can't stand it now. Unfortunately my wife didn't tire of it like I did.

Once you go to a race, it begins to translate to TV. My wife's first race was a Daytona 500. If you ever do a night race at Bristol, you'll be hooked for a long, long time.

I love NASCAR, but the CoT has made it unwatchable. I used to watch 95% of the races on tv and the remaining 5%, I would actually go to. I bet I haven't watch 50 laps in the last 3 years. It absolutely blows.

I went to Bristol a few years back and it was the most horrible day ever. It was too hot, too many people, too boring and the collective IQ was too low.

I agree Bruce. I've gone to one race there and don't plan on going back.

The COT almost single handily ruined NASCAR.Especially when the two car draft was discovered after that last big aero change. But there is a new car that replaced the COT that debuts in DAytona. But since I got another boat and got my back fixed so I can get back on the board, I don't watch but about 20 percent of the broadcasts.

I've had the opposite experience

Maybe I'm in the low IQ group but I've always had a great time at Bristol. Planning to go again this year.

Going to a race at bristol is special

the cot did ruin nascar. Like everything else, they tried to fix something that wasnt broken and capitalize on new fans. That worked for a year and alienated hard core fans

New car this year should fix most of the awful racing

It's been in decline since Earnhardt died. I used to watch qualifying on Friday and would know where everyone was starting. Now, I set the DVR and if I even watch the race it's in FFD pausing only for wrecks, and the last 10-20 laps.

Really, they are replacing COT?

I can get into NASCAR a little bit. Not a big fan, but I like it some.

I thought last season the sport has become a joke with every race ending with a really huge pack of cars all wrecking each other.

I go every year

Overheard some co-workers talking about the upcoming season...

I don't get it.

When I got married, I hated it . It was a right of passage according to my father in law who had been every year since Talladega started I guess. He had season tickets to everything. He pretty much talked me into going with him about 7 years ago. He has since passed away, but I had such a great time, I had everything transferred to my name. It is now a annual event in May for me and all my friends that are spread all over the country. We make a weekend out of it. Alcohol, bbq, tits and loud cars. Not too bad.

I watched all the time when Earnhardt was racing. After he died you didnt really have that iconic person like him and petty to keep the sport going. If Jr. were to actually start winning races it would get back popular again
