Someone will likely pick him up, but his major league career could be coming to a close. Either way, it's been a good one.

There is some Red Sox talk.

He literally hit a grand slam last night! Then gets DFA’d?! That sux….unless he gets picked up by a contender.
Helluva way to go out though. I’d be satisfied to retire on that

Went to a Rangers game a few months ago. Stopped by their clearance shop area, and 9 out of 10 items were Lowe jerseys. Guy won silver slugger and gold glove at this disaster of a franchise and he was just gone with the trash. They’ve never been to a World Series without having a State 1B, fun fact.

Also Mitch Moreland hit the Rangers first homer ever in the World Series. Nice footnote for his career.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a contender pick him up for the rest of the season. His stats were solid until this year in Washington and then they just cratered.

A lot of chatter about Boston. He would platoon there at first. Every team will wait on him to clear waivers this week because if they claim him now they are on the hook for around $3 million for the rest of the season. Once he clears waivers he’s a free agent and can be signed for the minimum and the Nats will have to pick up the difference for the rest of the season. After that he will need to have a good run the end of the season to get a free agent deal for next year.

Has a negative 0.4 WAR. Yeah, he hits a homer every now and then, but with his salary on a rebuilding team you could see this coming a mile away. A contender will pick him up to be a platoon DH/pinch hitter for the stretch run.

Yeah, the Red Sox would pick him up to platoon with Romy Gonzalez. Lowe would only play vs righties.
