I’ve never been a big Oats fan. But if the only choice is Oats or Pope then deliberations take less than a second.

I’ve never been sold on Oats and was very vocal about it on the old board. I just don’t think his style is built to win in March. One bad shooting half and you’re done.

He also had the situation a couple of years ago with player(s) involved in killing someone. I honestly think that is more of the character issue and biggest deterrent to UK considering him.

Nate Oats is a good coach but his handling of that Brandon Miller situation was awful. That’s hard for most to forget about, imo.
Yet the same people are happy with the current mediocrity because "he's one of us" and "he's a good man". Brutal.

At the end of the day, I don't care who is coach here. I just want UK to be what they typically have been in their history.

He wins at a high level at a pure football school
He has reached a F4 at a pure football school
He has a fraction of the NIL budget and resources that UK has
