Going in, I was kind of down on this draft. I think I’m wrong. I think we’ll see a lot of guys with good 10–15 year careers out of this one. More so than years past.

I still think Zion is destined for greatness. I heard guys saying the same thing they said when he came out of high school on the radio this morning. Now, they're just saying he won't be a man among boys again since he's headed to the NBA. He's still one strong man, I don't care who he's playing against. He truly loves the game and his work ethic is out the roof (or is it the ceiling). I'm going to enjoy watching him prove the naysayers wrong.

Enjoyed reading this one fellas. Was texting with hokie during the draft but this here provided a lotta laughs. It was a great night for duke fans, don’t think kids weren’t watching. Same goes for little....

Yes, it was a good night! I really enjoyed it fellas!

I might have slightly disagreed with you after the first round, because the Grizzlies adding Ja and coupling Brandon Clarke with Jaren Jackson may prove to be brilliant. Then, they got Bruno Fernando in the second off that trade and that officially won them the draft. What a huge value piece to get in the second round. Best second round value behind Bol Bol.

In terms of their playoff potential, you may be right. We’ll see how the Eas(y)t looks after free agency, but now that the Hawks may be out of tank mode, this could really do something huge for them. With Huerter being as effective as he is, Cam has a year to get things under his belt. I think that bodes well for him.

Ahh, ok.

Then they kind of ruined what I thought was gonna be a great draft by taking the Belmont kid when he was still gonna be there in the 2nd round. They made up for it though by signing Bolden.

What's not to like about Dylan Windler? Kid can ball. Athletic and lights-out shooter (effective fg percentage of 65% is crazy, especially for a wing). I think he's worthy of a 1st round pick, and Bilas even had him in the 20's somewhere.

Told Hokie last night and i feel the same this morning, RJ is the best player in this draft. This is going to be a situation where you look back five years and say how did he not go 1.

I feel the same about Cam Reddish. Not that he’s going to be the best player in this draft, but he will be a Top 5 player from this draft and will make a lot of people eat crow.

Once he becomes a consistent offensive shooter—to go along with his defensive intangibles—everyone and their momma are going to be like “wow! We would have never expected this! We were wrong about this kid! How did we miss this?”

Most of the projections I was looking at had him in the late 30's early 40's. Thought it was a reach and they could have moved back with all the trading/activity going on. I really wanted Kabengele or Nic Claxton, becauase Thompson/Love's days in Cleveland are numbered.

Windler was somewhat safe, but with the 26th pick I would rather roll the dice on someone with more upside/risk, the Cavs are gonna have a bunch more lottery picks in years to come anyway.

Shocked that Kris Wilkes didn't get drafted. Former top 20 player in high school who was projected by some as a late first round pick after his freshman year. Seemed to hurt his draft status by coming back his second year for UCLA. You just don't have a lot of upside after 2 years. The Knicks did pick him up after the draft.

Idk I just really love Windler's stroke. He shoots well off the dribble, great rebounder, and he makes good cuts. Second best shooter in the draft behind Cam Johnson. I get that he's a little older, but I still think he has a lot of potential. Worthy of a 1st rounder, IMO.

Kabengele is nice. Very skilled, and certainly a high ceiling. I thought he would go higher, for sure. One thing that would drive me crazy about him if he was on my team, is the guy is a complete ball-stopper. He's got to have one of the lowest assists per 40 minutes in the country. Once he gets the ball, you can pretty much guarantee he's looking for his shot.

Several highly regarded recruits went undrafted (many seen as potential 1st rounders). Seems like there are players like this every year. As far as Wilkes, certainly a talented kid. But a career shooting of 34% from 3 and 66% from the ft line might scare off a few executives. He can score in college, but everyone can do that in the league. He doesn't excel at any particular aspect. Here are some of the notable undrafted names that I've seen high up on some draft boards in the past 12 months or so.

Jaylen Hoard, Wake Forest
Lindell Wigginton, Iowa State
Lugentz Dort, Arizona State
Louis King, Oregon
Moses Brown, UCLA
Kris Wilkes, UCLA
Jontay Porter, Missouri
Simi Shittu, Vanderbilt
Naz Reid, LSU
Tyus Battle, Syracuse

No matter what happens, I’m not sure anyone ever says “how did RJ not go ahead of Zion.” Zion’s body of work leading up was too great. Anyone who says that is being completely revisionist which is B.S. RJ could end up as the greatest player of all time and Zion at 1 will be justifiable every time.

That being said, RJ is going to be amazing in the pros. I can’t wait to see what he can put together with Fizdale.

Surprised Tako never got picked. Because he looked like NBA all star when they played us. It's interesting how the undrafted players look more intriguing than the actual second rounders. Grass is always greener I suppose

As an aside, The NBA and New Era need to either
a) Do Away with the hats for draftees or
b) Get some hats which fit modern player haircuts. or
c) Give the player a Hat or Jersey Option (See NHL)

Seriously - Coby, Nas Little, Cam, Jaxon Hayes,Kevin Porter etc looked ridiculous trying to balance those hats on their high rise hairdos

Yeah that’s fair, i should have worded that better. I don’t mean to say how did Zion go number one when RJ is the best player, you HAVE to take Zion. I do think you’ll look back though and say wow, RJ was clearly the best player. And i love the Conductor.

I see a lot of Jayson Tatum similarities/qualities in Cameron Reddish. I personally think Reddish is going to have a heck of a Rookie Season.

Reddish was quoted as saying he's playing better now because he's eating healthy. Don't they have a nutrition program at Duke? Although you can't stop a kid from eating fries at 10pm.

Do they even make a hat that would fit over that mop that Coby White has on his head? lol

Nickeil Alexander-Walker (NAW) will fit well around Zion. He's really just a great shooter and not much else, but will get plenty of great looks spotting up around Zion. (This past Duke team could have really used his services.)

Wasn't crazy about the Jaxson Hayes pick since the Pelicans could have taken Cam Reddish. But I get it...makes sense, Hayes is a rim-running/rim-protecting big and will allow Zion to play the 4 (go for steals, do crazy Zion things out on the perimeter.)

NAW has more to his game than shooting. That’s probably his third best attribute. He’s a really skilled perimeter defender and he’s talented in the pick and roll, especially finishing at the rim. His handle needs work and he could become a better passer, but those other two coupled with what is a decent jumper should make him a good 6th man early and a starter down the road.

JJ went through the same thing. Bojangles was his famous vice. One of them anyway.
